Description
GOLDEN EYE
The Concordia Yawl is a very special class of wooden yawls, designed by naval architect C. Raymond Hunt with input from Llewellyn and Waldo Howland and built under contract to the Concordia Company by the famed Germen Shipyard of Abeking and Rasmusson.
The Concordia Yawl was designed to withstand heavy wind and choppy waters making her the perfect sailboat for both racing and comfortable cruising. As one of the most enduring yacht designs in sailing history, she has collected as many trophies as any class in ocean racing history while proving that a winning boat can be as beautiful as it is comfortable to sail. There were 103 Concordia yawls built, of which all are still afloat, making the Concordia Yawl class the largest class of one-design wooden sailing yachts.
A stunning example of the Concordia 39 Yawl class Golden Eye (built in 1960) may be hull #80 of the class but she certainly rests at the top of the podium when it comes to condition and value with thoughtful and timely upgrades to structure, systems and equipment and strict adherence to annual maintenance tasks.
Golden Eye has completed (Fall 2024) her annually scheduled maintenance work and awaits her next owners who will have little to do apart from normal launch and commissioning tasks in order to be aboard and sailing for Spring 2025.
