Description
1988 Bayliner 4588 Pilothouse Motor Yacht
With over 350 built during her production run, this handsome pilothouse yacht has long been recognized as one of the best big-boat buys in the industry. A careful blend of Pacific Northwest styling and comfortable interior accommodations result in a long-range cruising yacht with instant eye appeal. The pilothouse design makes an excellent cruiser and offers obvious advantages in cold or hot climates. While she can sleep three couples, this is really a two-couple boat with the third stateroom used as a den/study. Outside, a bridge overhang provides weather protection in the cockpit, and the flybridge will accommodate a dinghy. Engine access is via three hatches in the cockpit sole. The side decks are wide and secure, and wheelhouse doors provide easy access to the foredeck. With twin 220-hp HINO turbo-diesels she cruises at 17 knots and just over 1 mpg- excellent economy for a 45-foot yacht. The hull is cored to reduce weight, and a sharp entry and a 15" keel provide good seakeeping qualities.

Vessel Walkthrough
Accommodations:
With her Classic Northwest profile, The Bayliner 4588 is one of the best-selling 45-foot yachts ever produced. Affordable, and stylish, this all-weather Pilothouse Cruising Yacht offers exceptional fuel economy, a fantastic use of space, and more room than any other vessel in her class. In the warm TEAK interior, 4588 offers accommodations for any weather, for entertaining, or escaping with a book. The variety of accommodations include salon, pilothouse, flybridge, ensuite office, and aft cockpit, making her comfortable in any port in any season. This spacious 4588 sleeps four in two staterooms, plus two more in the convertible office/stateroom. There are two heads, each with a separate shower and the master head even has a bath tub.
The large windows, galley-up design and open floor plan create an open and airy feel in the salon, with plenty of room for entertaining or relaxation. The galley puts the chef at the center of activities in this large and right space.
Up a few steps takes you to the raised pilothouse, which offers great visibility for the captain and a fabulous view for guests sitting at the dinette. Entry doors on both sides and a door to the flybridge provide excellent access for the captain and crew to move about.
The large flybridge is shaded by a bimini top and features a center helm station and entertaining area with seating for eight on two large L-shaped settees. Aft on the is a dingy davit and storage for a tender.
The master stateroom is all the way forward and features a centerline walk-around queen berth, ample storage, flatscreen television and ensuite head with tub and shower. The ensuite office includes a desk and a settee, which converts into upper and lower berths, making this a third stateroom for when extra guests are on board.
The cockpit is sheltered by the hardtop. The transom door and swimming platform make it easy to board from the stern.
The 4588 is powered by fuel-sipping Hino diesels. These 6-cylinder, 220 hp turbo-diesels have proven to be some of the most reliable and fuel efficient marine diesels ever built.
The 12.5 kW Westerbeke generator provides plenty of power to run all systems while underway.

Brokers Comments
Updated and well maintained 4588 is ready for new adventures. The owners spent a lot of time and money getting ready for the Great Loop. New paint, electronics, bottom paint, and Prop-Speed, low hour diesel engines and generator-hard to find a better yacht for cruising, the Great Loop, or a live-aboard.
Easy to see in New Bern, NC (EWN) with jet service through Charlotte (CLT) on American Airlines or on Breeze Airways through Orlando (MCO).
No disappointments!
