Description

Corsair is an excellent example of a 43 Serendipity Sloop 1980, designed by Doug Peterson and built in California. She was designed as an offshore Bluewater Racer/Cruiser and this Grand Prix flush-deck deep-draft model proved to be very competitive for the Admiral's Cup, SORC, TransPac, and Big Boat Series in her day, but remains very competitive today in most regional and club regattas. Corsair spent most of her life cruising and racing in and around San Francisco, and sailed to St. Petersburg in 2014 where she awaits her next owner.

Sail Inventory totals 14 Sails and includes a full set of competitive racing sails as well as delivery/cruising sails, as well as a conventional aluminum spinnaker pole and a Forespar Carbon Fiber pole for racing. Repowered in 1999 with a Nanni/Mercedes 40hp Diesel engine with only 600 hours, a 105 Amp Alternator, and a 2021 folding Martec Prop, she has plenty of power when needed. The tapered triple spreader mast & boom are Awlgripped to match the hull and all SS Rod Rigging has has been constantly inspected and upgraded as necessary including the Navtec Hydraulic back-stay system.

The Flush-Deck, "T"-shaped split cockpit layout is all business with deck hardware positioned for infinite tweaks when every second per mile makes a difference. For Cruising, all lines led aft to the cockpit make short-handed sailing a breeze, too. Please note that some of the interior photos depict the interior in near "Racing-Mode," and do not show the full set of Seven (7) nice clean and like-new high-quality fabric berth and settee cushions that have been stored in a clean and dry storage facility. In addition to the V-Berth Cushions (shown empty), there are two 7' Settee Berths and 2 Pilot Berths, in the Salon, and Aft is a Single Settee Berth and a Double Berth to Port. The functional Galley has all you need to prepare meals for your crew, and the Head with electric toilet, vanity, sink, and large separate shower stall are generous size and very functional for cruising.

Electronics include two 2018 B&G Displays in the cockpit and the Owner was in the process of selecting additional new electronics when his plans suddenly changed and this yacht is priced so the new owner can buy and install his/her favorite brand and models to complete the electronics suite instead. Corsair was last hauled out, running gear inspected, and anti-fouling paint renewed in December 2022.

So whether you are looking for a competitive Racing boat or a proven high-performance bluewater-capable Cruiser, you won't be disappointed upon inspection because Corsair is an excellent value and priced to sell immediately. Call today to schedule a personal inspection.

    Accomodations & Walkthrough

Enter the Salon of this 43 Serendipity Doug Peterson Racer/Cruiser 1980 via the Companionway forward and center in the T-Shaped Cockpit & down 4 steps. Varnished teak cabinetry and accent teak paneling provide a warm contrast and yacht finish appearance to the light painted interior hull, ceiling, and some bulkheads; providing a bright interior via light and ventilation from the heavy-duty Bomar deck hatches. Flooring is a light-weight composite material with numerous cut-out access panels to the bilges.

The functional Galley is to port and opposite is the forward-facing Nav table. The wide and spacious Salon has 7ft. Settee berths on each side, with equal-size Pilot Berths above and outboard with storage behind each settee backrest. Like-new marine-grade blue fabric cushions are not all shown in the photos, but have rarely been onboard and show little wear. The updated 40 HP Nanni/Mercedes diesel engine is located under and behind the Companionway stairs and is easily accessible for quick routine inspection and for all other servicing.

Aft of the Nav Station and under the Cockpit is a single berth as well as a double berth on the port side along with shelves above and storage areas below the berths. Although there is no door separating this area from the Salon, the double-berth is tucked behind the Galley and engine compartment solid bulkheads.

Moving forward of the Salon, to port is the private Head with electric toilet, vanity, sink and storage below and outboard. Further forward to port is a shower stall, which also has brackets for storage underway for a teak boarding ladder, (shown in one photo). Opposite the Head is a Hanging Locker and forward is a Hanging Rope locker. All the way forward is the easily Convertible Sail Locker/V-Berth/Forepeak with Cushions and framing (currently dry-stored).
