Vessel Walk Through
The
ample guest stateroom is forward and offers a very comfortable centerline
island queen berth. There is no lack of storage with two large drawers at the
foot of the berth, cedar lined hanging lockers port and starboard and several
other accessible spaces surrounding. There is a recently installed large
flatscreen TV on the bulkhead wall to port. Natural light and ventilation abounds
with four opening port lights and large hatch overhead. Just aft to starboard
is the guest head. Two opening port lights illuminate and ventilate the vanity,
sink, VacuFlush toilet and large stall shower.
Continuing
aft along the companionway you will note the well-lit steps back up to the
pilothouse to your left. Just a few more steps and you are entering the
amidships Master Stateroom. A centerline queen berth with a memory foam
mattress, custom comforter and pillow shams greets you. With many drawers
and cedar lined locker storage you will have ample options to store all your
adventure wear including a custom installed safe and recently installed large
flatscreen TV. The stateroom has four opening port lights. An ample en-suite
head is to starboard nicely laid out also with vanity, sink, VacuFlush toilet
and a nice separate stall shower. A water tight door on the bulkhead of the
stall shower leads to the engine room. Forward and to port is a nicely
proportioned private office / third port stateroom with built in desk, lots of
storage and two large bunk beds.
Moving
starboard we head up the curved stairs that lead to the pilothouse. Now in the
pilothouse, looking forward from the centerline helm seat you have easy reach
to all your navigation and systems monitoring. To port and starboard Diamond
Seaglaze Dutch Doors which give access to both of the side decks. Behind you
have a settee with a table and a watch berth behind it. Beautiful refinements
and woodworking give it a touch of charm.
Leaving
the pilothouse and continuing aft down two steps the galley is on the port
side. From the fully equipped open galley you look back into the very nicely
finished and appointed teak salon with teak and holly sole. Your entertainment
is provided via a fold away flatscreen TV and a high-end audio sound system.
Two leather chairs with custom made matching foot rests store under the chairs.
You can move them out and use them to use as an ottoman or you can raise them
and use them as extra seating at the table. To port is a built-in settee with
storage and a high-low teak table. There is a large engine access door in the
sole of the salon if needed.
Up on
the flybridge deck you will find a commanding view both fore and aft. From
the wheel, you can see the both stern corner rails to give you good situational
awareness. With a bow thruster and Throttle and Transmission Controls at
(4) Four Stations, the Selene 53 can be tucked nicely into most any spot in the
marina. There are (2) helm chairs on the Flybridge, as well as an
L-Shaped Settee and a Wet bar with DC plugs. The Flybridge can be
accessed via the steps from inside at the Pilothouse or from the aft deck via
the flybridge steps. The aft steps are built-in, not a ladder, so you can easily
have kids join you or pets without the need to carry them.

Lazzarette
This
is the area where you will find the large Gunert Freezer & Watermaker, shore power cords, deck
brushes, and the other typical boating gear. The steering gear and rudder
can be easily accessed here, as well as the hynautic steering fluid
reservior. This is a very clean area that shows the excellent care the
owners have taken of this Selene 53.
The
Selene Foredeck
Selene
believes in making your cruising enjoyable. The foredeck is an example of this
for 2 reasons. (1) You have room to work the anchor and have your feet under
you on a wide and open foredeck. (2) Take a look at some of the other trawlers
available - they are either built with a slippery sheer that in the rain would
make docking or pulling the anchor a challenge for footing, or they are tight
and have different deck levels to make just getting around the foredeck
challenging. The Selene 53 has a wide and open foredeck, no stumbling needed.
Entertainment and Enjoyable outdoor space. With the Portuguese Bridge, the
Selene foredeck frames the anchor platform and offers you not only the foredeck
settee, but also room to add foldable deck chairs to being guests up
forward. The anchor platform has a sampson post for lines, as well as
room for twin anchors, port and starboard from the anchor platform. The
electric windlass can be operated via foot pedals, or at either helm.
