Description
This Catalina 320 stands apart with an exceptional list of recent upgrades that eliminate the typical “to-do” list. From brand-new standing rigging and sails to a fully modernized helm, solar array, and new engine/transmission, water maker this vessel is purpose-built for reliable coastal cruising or extended liveaboard comfort.
The cockpit is protected by a new Sunbrella dodger, Bimini, and full enclosure, while a 1,150-watt solar array and Starlink connectivity bring true off-grid capability. Below deck, refreshed finishes and practical systems create a clean, functional, and inviting living space.
Whether you’re stepping up or setting off, this is a true ready to sail cruiser.

Owners Comments and Boat History
I purchased Makai from a naval officer and part-time Sea Tow captain who originally bought her to teach his child how to sail. When I took ownership, I committed to a full overhaul—transforming her into a capable, well-equipped vessel ready for serious passagemaking. I invested heavily in upgrades and custom-fabricated components with the intention of making the journey from Tampa and even considered the possibility of a transatlantic crossing.
Makai has truly been a labor of love. Every improvement reflects careful thought and hands-on effort. She’s more than just a boat to me—she’s where I developed my sailing skills, gained invaluable experience, and learned lessons that extended far beyond the water.
Makai is a well fit cruising vessel. Very comfortable for two people. I sailed her from Tampa and she served her purpose. She’s a very forgiving vessel and extremely easy single handed.
