Brendan Guthrie brings a unique blend of marine science, hydrographic survey experience, and hands-on sailing and watersports expertise to his role as a Yacht Broker & Advisor with Veteran Yacht Sales.
Before entering yacht brokerage, Brendan served as a Marine Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), where he supported hydrographic surveys, seabed mapping, and geospatial analysis used for marine navigation, habitat research, and environmental monitoring. His work included processing multibeam sonar data and contributing to mapping projects covering thousands of square nautical miles of coastal waters.
His professional background also includes time in Annapolis with Quantum Sails, supporting sail service and distribution for competitive sailing programs, and with Beasley Marine, contributing to the construction and restoration of high-performance sailboats.
Now based in Kill Devil Hills in North Carolina’s Outer Banks, Brendan remains deeply connected to life on the water. He has logged thousands of hours coaching kitesurfing, windsurfing, and foil sports, guiding clients in one of the most dynamic watersports environments on the East Coast.
Brendan holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology with a minor in Geology from the College of Charleston and is a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, combining scientific understanding of marine environments with practical experience on the water.
Whether assisting a first-time buyer or advising an experienced owner, Brendan focuses on helping clients evaluate vessels with clarity and confidence while navigating every stage of the brokerage process.
