Walter spent his early years in Greenwich, Conn, where he attended public schools and worked at his family’s boat yard/marina. Walter graduated from Greenwich High School and later graduated from Marietta College in Ohio. He was employed by British Overseas Airways in New York City and later worked in hotel management in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Walter started his yacht brokerage career in 1974 on 17th Street in Ft. Lauderdale and soon after sold a 190 ft. Yacht when he was 28 years old. The following years Walter sold Hatteras Yachts and was awarded # 1 Hatteras new yacht salesman 7 times (the most ever worldwide). In 1990 he was appointed President of Stuart Hatteras and they won the World’s Largest Hatteras Dealer award. Later Walter was appointed Director of Allied Marine Super Yacht Division with offices in Stuart and Ft. Lauderdale. In 1997 Walter was appointed Managing Director of Hatteras Yacht Company- Custom Yacht Sales. Walter served as President, Vice President, and Secretary of the Florida Yacht Brokers Association (now IYBA). He has attended many of the important yacht shows in Florida, Monaco, Pacific Northwest, and China. During his career, Walter has sold many large yachts from some of the world's top builders, and he have visited most of the important yacht builders in the U.S. and Europe. Walter has enjoyed every year working in the yachting world and there is no substitute for experience.
