Sandy Marger
Sandy is a seasoned Veteran in the marine industry, with an impressive 45 years of hands-on marine experience. From the picturesque Windward Islands to the charming coast of Maine, Sandy has built, maintained, and delivered motor vessels ranging from 13 feet to 127 feet. With his knowledge and expertise, he is the perfect ally to assist, support, and serve all your yachting needs.
Born and raised on the beautiful waters of Miami Beach, Florida, Sandy's passion for boating, sailing, and fishing was ignited at an early age on his 15-foot Boston Whaler, Sunfish, and Hobie 16. After completing high school in North Miami, Florida, Sandy pursued his culinary dreams at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, becoming a French classical chef. Cooking and serving as mate on the renowned 82-foot Broward motor yacht “A-Copy”, for one of the most respected and demanding yachtsmen in the world, Sandy gained invaluable experience during high-profile charter seasons in the Caribbean, Bahamas, and New England, for princes, movie stars, and the rich and famous.
Driven by a thirst for knowledge, Sandy furthered his education in business administration and eventually returned to the marine industry armed with his 100 ton captain's license. He took the helm of various motor vessels, both for private owners and charter operators, showcasing his exceptional yachting skills, keen eye for detail, dedication to excellence, hospitality, and his straight forward honest approach to doing business.
During his journey, Sandy's path crossed with Monica his wife, creating a major turning point in his life. Choosing to prioritize his family, he left the yachting world behind to become a proud father of four and a doting grandfather to eleven. His love for the sea, however, remained unwavering as he became the owner of several motor vessels, including his classic Hatteras yacht fish “GUS”, which is still one of the nicest in the world today. Additionally, Sandy had become a trusted global strategic, technology, and process advisor to anym, one of the largest oil and gas companies worldwide in his role as Global Client Service Partner at Deloitte and Touch, and Ernst and Young.
Despite his semi-retirement 5 years ago, an 8,000-mile boating trip with Monica aboard GUS, Sandy has never lost touch with the yachting community that captured his heart many years ago. His strong network of friends, colleagues, and owners keeps him actively involved, always up to date with the latest developments in the industry.
Sandy's commitment to expanding his horizons led him to earn a private pilot's license with VFR and multi-engine endorsements. He is also a holder of a USCG 200-ton Masters with towing and sailing endorsements, is currently in pursuit of his 500-ton Masters endorsement, and is a Naui Master Diver.
Recognized for his deep knowledge of motor vessel operations, affinity for offshore fishing, and vessel operations, Sandy is regarded as a trusted authority in his field. His love for the sea is not only a profession but a way of life.
When it comes to navigating the vast ocean of yachting opportunities, and meeting your yachting needs, Sandy Marger is the name you can trust. His extensive experience, unwavering dedication, and profound understanding of the maritime world make him the ideal partner for your yachting endeavors. He always seeks to bring “value, and is a trusted pair of hands.”
