Founded in 1863 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin as H. Burger Shipyard, Henry Burger’s initial aim was to construct 20- to 30-foot Mackinaw fishing vessels. The high quality and efficiency of these builds quickly established Burger’s reputation across the Great Lakes region. Over the subsequent decade, the company expanded its operations, adding refit and repair services to its new construction projects. As the business grew, it transformed from Burger and Burger Shipyard into the present-day Burger Boat Company.

Burger Boat Company has built a distinguished reputation for crafting a diverse range of custom yachts in both aluminum and steel, collaborating with world-renowned naval architects and designers. The Burger fleet is renowned for showcasing the yard’s wide-ranging capabilities through numerous unique yachts.

Among over 500 builds, several notable yachts highlight Burger Boat Company’s craftsmanship. The Sis W series was created for the owners of the Walgreens pharmacy chain, and in 2009, Burger launched the 43.3-meter superyacht Sea Owl, designed by Andrew Winch with naval architecture by Vripack. That same year, the yard demonstrated its versatility with the launch of the 46-meter retro superyacht Sycara IV, designed by Ken Freivokh. The largest Burger superyacht to date is the 46.6-meter Ingot, which won the “Art de Vivre La Belle Classe Moët & Chandon” award at the 2010 Monaco Rendezvous.

Burger’s core values of integrity, honesty, and commitment are evident throughout the design process and beyond the yacht’s delivery, ensuring the creation of exceptional vessels. Each Burger yacht reflects the passion, dedication, and expertise of the team, making them highly sought after in the luxury yacht market.
