Description
SOVEREIGN a stunning LIDGARD 73 Custom is back on the market with a substantially discounted price. This is your chance to own a High Performance sailing catamaran capable of breathtaking speed, surrounded in luxurious comfort and proven offshore capabilities.
This 73’ Lidgard catamaran, built in Australia with epoxy construction and carbon fiber reinforced cross beams, offers elite sailing performance capable of reaching 22knots and cruising under power comfortably at 10 knots. Her 6-cabin layout accommodates 12 guests. Two cabins are on the main deck level with ensuite heads and 4 additional cabins within her two hulls. She is equipped with the latest Garmin electronics, new sails, substantial tender-lift, refreshed interior finishes, advanced safety equipment including stainless railing around the entire deck, engine driven crash pumps and dual life rafts. Her sleek helm and self-tacking jib make her easy to sail short-handed. The current owner has sailed her extensively in the Mediterranean, Bahamas, Caribbean, and coastal US from Charleston to the Chesapeake; this catamaran has proven her range and reliability. Currently USCG documented and in excellent condition, SOVEREIGN is the ultimate long-range PERFORMANCE cruising catamaran. Why sail a catamaran that doesn’t perform?
Sovereign was commissioned in 2005 as a custom Lidgard design built to the highest standards by Executive Yachts in Australia. She was placed into service by the original owner in 2007 and has sailed extensively all over the world. Sovereign has never been chartered.
Purchased by her second owner (current owner) in 2017, Sovereign underwent a major refit in Greece where the current owners sailed her for two years. She then made the journey from Greece to the Caribbean in 2019 and spent a number of years in the Spanish and British Virgin Islands where the owner often hosted his five daughters and friends aboard the vessel.
Over the next few years Sovereign journeyed from the Caribbean to the Bahamas, Charleston, SC, the Chesapeake Bay and back multiple times. The owner and his family have spent countless hours enjoying the beauty of the excellent performance sailing, the incredible waters and cultures of the Mediterranean, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. The accommodations are designed to delight the sailor, with plenty of refrigerator and freezer space, lots of storage, and amazing public spaces like the immense trampoline areas and the 20ft wide swim platform that becomes your personal private beach in the most beautiful places in the world.
Sovereign has been maintained to very high standards and offers the best performance catamaran experience yachting has to offer at a price point well below her $8,000,000 replacement cost. Suitable for short-handed sailing, family adventures and bespoke charter, Sovereign offers enormous opportunity at an attractive price point.
