Full Details
The Antigua 53
- The Antigua 53 is a luxurious sailing yacht designed for long distance cruising and comfort living aboard. It is a high performance vessel that offers both speed and stability, making it suitable for various sailing conditions. Antigua Yachts took a hull designed by Charlie Morgan and stretched it to become the Antigua 53. She is a custom built yacht using high-quality materials and craftsmanship, ensuring durability and seaworthiness. Her cutaway forefoot and full keel allow for excellent performance under sail. They were built in Florida and many were built as a ketch rig but Rarity is a sloop with a powerful rig and large sail area. Her Electric Boom roller furling Main make her easy for short handed sailing. Electric roller furling headsail as well.
- Rarity is a lovely and well-equipped sailing yacht that offers a comfortable and enjoyable sailing experience. She combines performance, comfort, and style, making the Antigua 53 a popular choice amoung sailing enthusiasts and those looking for a high end cruising yacht.
Accommodations
- The interior of the Antigua 53 was designed with elegance and comfort in mind. It offers a well appointed Saloon with a dining area, lots of storage space through out the boat, a fully equipped galley, and two private sleeping cabins both with their own en-suite bathrooms with separate sit-down shower stalls. To top it off, she has a walk-in engine room with full headroom.
- Starting forward and working our way aft, I will try to give you an idea of how her interior is laid out. Aft of the chain locker and in the forepeake of the vessel is the guest head. Vanity with sink and cabinet to port, head and separate shower stall to starboard and two opening stainless steel portlights for excellent ventilation. Next is the guest stateroom; Double Pullman berth to starboard with shelf and lockers outboard. To port is the hanging locker, seat, table with built-in drawers, shelf and lockers outboard as well as 4 opening stainless steel opening ports.
- Now we enter the main salon which is quite large. To port is a straight settee and side table with drawers, lockers outboard and entertainment center. Aft of the settee is the aft facing navigation station and swival seat. The electric panel is here as well as the door that leads to her engine compartment and work room. Centerline companionway leads to her center cockpit. On starboard is a very large U-shaped dinette with a fixed teak table with leaves. Here too one will find storage lockers outboard and storage under the seats as well as in the fixed table. Aft of the dinette is an L-shaped and quite long galley that also serves as the walkway to the master cabin. She has lovely updated Beige Ultra-leather seating with warm teak bulkheads and cabinetry with cane insets and a teak and holly sole. Similar to a deck salon, she has large fixed windows offering a ton of light below (all have been replaced).
- Walking past the galley we enter the Master Stateroom. Centerline queen berth is flanked by cabinets with drawers as well as a step up. Hanging lockers port and stb, bureau forward with mirror, private head to port with large vanity, toilet and separate shower stall with bench seat. Everywhere there are stainless steel opening ports and overhead hatches in Master and main salon.
Galley
As mentioned before, she has a very large galley which allows for a large refrigerator and separate freezer as well as a washer/dryer combo in the walkway to the master cabin aft. Here too you will find the large portlights allowing plenty of light and a very bright galley work space. Cabinets with sliding doors outboard and storage under the sink area. There is also an additional access door to the engine compartment allowing for ease in reaching the starboard side of the engine.
