Description

1988 Custom Tollycraft EY440 Sedan Mustang

A Rare Opportunity to Own a Piece of Pacific Northwest Yachting History

Presenting Mustang, an exceptional and highly sought-after custom 44-foot sedan that represents the pinnacle of collaborative Pacific Northwest craftsmanship. Born from the legendary Ed Monk-designed Tollycraft hull and meticulously finished by the master builders at EY Yachts in Victoria, BC, this vessel offers a rare blend of proven seaworthiness, custom quality, and thoughtful modern updates. A comprehensive refit just completed ensures she presents with the charm of a classic yacht but the condition and conveniences of a much newer boat.

Unmatched Pedigree and Provenance

Mustang is one of only four EY440s ever constructed and one of two currently plying the waters of the Pacific Northwest. The build began with a bare 44-foot hull and deck from the renowned Tollycraft Corporation—a hull celebrated as one of the best-riding designs of its era. This foundation was then transported to EY Yachts, where craftsmen constructed the superstructure and installed all high-quality mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Her proven capability is underscored by her previous voyages to Alaska and circumnavigation of Vancouver Island.

Recently Refit & Ready for Adventure

The current owner has invested significantly in refreshing and servicing Mustang, ensuring she is turn-key ready for your next adventure. The Cat 3208 propulsion power have both been completely rebuilt and been refreshed ready to power through the next several seasons.

Spacious & Practical Interior Layout

Main Salon: Enter through a large sliding glass door into a bright and inviting space filled with natural light from long port and starboard windows. The comfortable L-shaped settee includes storage underneath and converts to a hide-away bed, perfect for entertaining or accommodating guests. Electric heat ensures comfort in any season.

Galley: Forward to port, the galley is both bright and sensible. With side and front windows, it remains connected to the surroundings. Large counters, a NovaKool refrigerator, a three-burner electric stove, microwave, and trash compactor make meal preparation a pleasure.

Accommodations: Step down from the main salon into the staterooms and two heads. The master stateroom features a centerline island queen berth with access steps, an overhead hatch, opening portlights, and a cedar-lined hanging locker. The guest stateroom offers versatility with a double bunk. Both heads are well-finished with electric toilets and share access to a spacious, separate fiberglass shower stall.

Lower Helm: Positioned forward to starboard, this fully equipped station features a unique double bench seat for both seated and standing operation. Complete with full instrumentation, window wipers, and the main electrical panel, it provides all-weather command.

Exceptional & Functional Exterior Spaces

Flybridge: A truly outstanding feature of this yacht, the flybridge offers excellent visibility, abundant space for storage or lounging, and a recently refreshed seating area. The helm features a pivoting captain’s chair, while guest seating for four converts into sun loungers. A Sony sound system, cup holders, and a hinged radar arch complete this perfect social hub.

Cockpit: Low to the water for easy access, the covered cockpit features a transom door, extensive storage in the coamings, and hatches providing access to steering gear and engine room entry.

Foredeck: Clean, safe, and functional, the foredeck is protected by high stainless steel rails and features a robust Lofrans Tigress windlass with a 20kg Lewmar plow anchor and 300' of chain.

Power & Machinery

Reliable power is provided by the highly regarded twin Caterpillar 3208TA 375 HP diesel engines, known for their durability and performance. Auxiliary power comes from an 8kW Onan generator, ensuring comfort and convenience while at anchor. Key systems include Bennett trim tabs and comprehensive Raymarine electronics (MFDs, Autopilot, VHF).
