Description
The Whitby 42 is known as a comfortable, seaworthy, and well-mannered ketch with good sailing performance. The shoal draft cutaway full keel is ICW and Bahamas friendly and offers good reaching performance. The prop is located in an aperture, providing protection from submerged objects and lobster pots, and the encapsulated ballast removes any worry about old keel bolts. Her center cockpit and generous beam combine to allow for a spacious two-cabin, two-head interior with a large master stateroom aft; and the versatile ketch rig with in-boom furling is easily managed short-handed. If you're looking for a capable cruiser, without breaking the bank, the Whitby 42 represents an excellent value in today's market.
Felicity is a later model and one of the last 42's built at Whitby Boat Works. She includes the optional bow sprit and has had several recent updates under current ownership. Though she needs a couple finishing touches, she is in good order and can be sailed away.
