Description
If you like Wesmac downeast hulls, precision design particulars and custom boatbuilding details, Veritas is the boat for you.
Veritas combines the venerable Wesmac hull pedigree with custom design by Matt Smith Naval Architect and finishing by
New England Boatworks. Her Yamaha outboard power sets her apart from the crowd while providing weight savings and a quieter ride than any inboard diesel could provide.
Minimal air draft, 2'7" water draft and cruising speeds at 8 - 9 kts as well as 16-17 kts make Veritas a perfect Great Loop platform. Comfortable cruising for a couple and guests.
The ingenious design detail, the beach house interior, the absolutely phenomenal outboard power means you can cruise in comfort and receive compliments and nods of approval in every harbor. This is a customized Wesmac gem that receives our highest recommendation.

Build / Design Comments
Veritas is the culmination of 30 years of boat ownership, translated into this highly customized downeast cruiser. The sellers knew that their perfect boat would be unique. With custom design and engineering by Matt Smith Naval Architect, hull and Deck lay up by Wesmac, and interior finishing and systems installation by New England Boatworks (NEB), they have achieved their goal.
The build out, finishing and equipment installation was all completed with custom quality in mind, as well as weight savings. In choosing outboard power, the weight of the boat and the engineering was significantly changed from typical Wesmacs. Aluminum was used for main saloon sub-sole structure with a plywood saloon sole. Sound insulation was unnecessary and excluded from the engine compartment (now machinery / storage space). Overall weight savings is approximately 6,000 pounds less than a typical inboard Wesmac.
Hull and Deck
Wesmac laid up the hull and deck with optional vinylester resin and foam-cored hull sides.
NEB assembled the hull and deck, including cockpit sole install, saloon sole install, full interior fit out and full mechanical / electrical installations.
Twin Yamaha 300 hp outboards are installed relatively far apart allowing improved maneuverability and providing space for dinghy storage on centerline. When the dinghy is in the water, the cockpit is expansive for entertaining, lounging and fishing. The centerline deck extends between the outboards for excellent water access for swimming, dinghy boarding or landing fish. A cockpit sun awning provides shade.
Wide side decks with house top hand rails and 30" stainless steel bow rail plus foldable FlatTop spring cleats provide safe access to the bow.
The forward house has three Lewmar overhead opening hatches and six Lewmar opening portlights.
The saloon hardtop has a Wesmac visor and a single mast supporting the electronics array.
