Welcome to Vesper the 2004 Beneteau 423 well-equipped performance cruiser, thoughtfully outfitted for comfortable cruising near or far. A two-owner vessel that has never been chartered, she has been consistently maintained by experienced owners and offers an extensive list of cruising upgrades.

Set up with northern cruising in mind, she features Webasto diesel hydronic heat, a 29 GPH EchoTec watermaker, 600Ah of new AGM batteries, 330W of solar, a 170A high-performance Balmar alternator with upgraded regulator, new instruments, AIS, Starlink, and a full Iverson canvas enclosure with bug screens. A Honda 2200i generator provides additional charging capacity and can also assist with heating water when needed.

Under sail, she benefits from a new in-mast furling mainsail, 130% genoa, and a beautiful asymmetric spinnaker deployed with an ATN sock. A three-blade folding Max-Prop improves efficiency under power and sailing performance, while the upgraded electric port cockpit winch makes sail handling easier for a shorthanded crew.

Her ground tackle is equally well prepared, with an oversized anchor on a swivel, 150 feet of chain, 150 feet of nylon rode, and a brand-new Lewmar windlass for easy retrieval. Altogether, this Beneteau 423 presents as a capable, comfortable, and ready-to-cruise sailboat with the systems and equipment already in place for extended adventures.

Construction

The hull is single-skinned GRP construction. Reinforced points (keel, rudder, chain plates, hull-deck joint) help to strengthen the structure. A structural inner molding is bonded and laminated to the hull. Its structural role is important as it takes and absorbs the stresses at pressure points (shroud chainplate tie rods, keel, rudder, etc.), and spreads any loads guaranteeing reduced strain on the hull. The surface of the inner molding makes cleaning easier and provides a better finish.

The deck is sandwich construction (fiberglass and balsa) for an optimal strength/weight ratio and excellent thermal and sound insulation. A diamond point non-slip surface increases safety over all areas of movement on deck.

Additional construction details to confirm/add:

  • Keel configuration
  • Rudder configuration
  • Deck construction
  • Hull/deck joint condition
  • Any known structural upgrades, repairs, or survey findings

Coating

  • 2025 bottom job with Micron CSC Black bottom paint
