Description
The introduction of the Beneteau 423 in 2003 generated considerable excitement in the sailing community. Building on the success of the highly regarded Beneteau 473, the new model quickly earned praise from the sailing press, including Cruising World’s “Best Midsize Cruiser Under $250,000” award. It has since become one of Beneteau’s most popular designs.

Accommodations
Below deck, Carpe Ventum features a two-cabin / 2-head layout with a single aft cabin to port. The owner’s stateroom is forward and includes a centerline double berth with a settee to port. Hull-side shelves and drawers beneath the berth provide storage. The ensuite head has a separate stall shower.
The saloon is spacious, with the interior pushed out to the hull sides. To starboard is a U-shaped dinette with all-around seating, lockers with louvered doors outboard, and a bookshelf on the bulkhead. Opposite to port is a settee with additional storage above and behind.
The galley, located to starboard, includes Corian counters with hardwood fiddles, a three-burner Force 10 stove and oven, front- and top-loading 12-volt refrigeration, and a built-in microwave locker. Storage is available in overhead lockers above the stove and drawers below.
The joiner work is finished in cherry-stained varnish with a teak-and-holly laminated cabin sole. Overhead skylight hatches provide natural light, and numerous opening ports and hatches ensure excellent ventilation. The headliner is white vinyl, supported by removable wood battens.
Seat covers are off-white breathable upholstery, and the mattresses are covered in washable fabric. Sleeping accommodations for up to six people: two in the forward cabin, two in the aft guest cabin, and two on the convertible dinette in the saloon.
