Description

Designed by Mark Ellis, the Freedom built Legacy 40 Downeast sedan mixes the traditional lines and

look of a Downeast trawler with state of the art construction and design for efficiency and cruising

comfort. Especially noteworthy is the hull design with a deep-V bow and chine stern which allows the

hull to glide through open sea conditions with ease. She features port and starboard doors from the salon,

extra tall windows and is easily cruised by a crew of one or two. With no blind spots, there are no

problems getting around for line handling, anchoring or docking. The salon is spacious and open, and the

galley is down with lots of storage. This is the popular 2 stateroom, 2 head model with plenty of creature

comforts for extended cruising. Powered by a reliable 450 HP Cummins turbo diesel, she can be as

economical as a trawler or you can run at a top speed of 18-19 knots to avoid foul weather or just arrive

early. Dorsey Dee is a two owner boat and has been meticulously cared for and cruised on the Chesapeake

Bay since her purchase in Rockport, Me in 2016 where she had enjoyed indoor heated storage annually

under prior ownership.
