Description
The Stanley 38 is a timeless example of Maine boatbuilding at its finest. Designed by Lyford Stanley and built by the renowned John Williams Boat Company on Mount Desert Island, this 38-foot Downeast cruiser beautifully combines traditional lines with modern craftsmanship to provide a versatile boat that is a great platform for fishing or entertaining, with plenty of room for as many as 15 guests.
Constructed with a solid fiberglass hull and accented by exquisite teak trim, the Stanley 38 is as rugged as she is graceful. Her hull design offers exceptional stability and a smooth, dry ride—perfect for both coastal cruising and offshore passages. A large propeller, rudder and a bow thruster make her easy to maneuver near the dock.
Double Shot is a shining example of this venerable Downeast, she is very well-equipped, well cared for and has been tastefully upgraded and modified over the years. She spent her first decade of service cruising the Maine coast in the summers; the current owners acquired the boat in 2015 and have since cruised the Bahamas, Florida and now New England. Double shot has a fantastic layout for family cruising: she sleeps 5 (4 below in a queen berth and 2 single "quarter berths" and 1 in the pilothouse settee)
Her Yanmar diesel was just serviced and she is ready to be launched for the 2025 summer season. Double Shot is currently in indoor heated storage and will be launching in the near future where she will be kept on a dock in Newport for easy viewing, she is in fantastic condition and a showing with most definitely not disappoint.
