Description
Hunter 38 Cruising Sailboat – Comfort, Performance, and Easy Handling
The Hunter 38 sailing yacht was designed as an exceptionally comfortable cruising sailboat that also provides a nice sailing platform with easy handling. Built with modern cruising sailors in mind, the Hunter 38 combines the ease of a furling main and genoa, spacious cockpit, and thoughtfully designed interior to create a versatile cruiser ideal for coastal cruising, weekend sailing, or extended getaways.
Interior comfort is one of the standout features of the Hunter 38. With an impressive 6’6” cabin headroom, the interior feels open and inviting. The space is accented by solid teak trim and a durable teak-and-holly Everwear laminate cabin sole, creating a warm and classic nautical atmosphere.
The spacious layout includes an extra-large main salon, a comfortable aft master stateroom with en suite head, a guest stateroom with V-berth forward, a fully equipped galley, and a dedicated aft-facing navigation station.
"Wind Song" is moored in the Gulfport Municipal Marina, previously known as the Gulfport Small Craft Harbor or Bert Jones Yacht Basin. Scroll to the bottom of the listing to view the location on Google Maps.

Walkthrough
2008 Hunter 38 Sailboat Walkthrough – Comfortable Two-Cabin Cruising Layout
Stepping aboard the 2008 Hunter 38 sailboat, you immediately notice the spacious cockpit and intelligent deck layout designed for comfortable cruising and easy sail handling. Wide side decks provide safe movement forward, while the large cockpit offers ample seating for guests and crew. The signature Hunter stainless steel arch traveler system keeps the mainsheet above the cockpit, creating an open and uncluttered seating area ideal for relaxing under sail or at anchor. The cockpit also features a folding table, wheel steering, and easy access to the walk-through transom with integrated swim platform and boarding ladder.
Entering the cabin through the companionway, you are welcomed into a bright and open interior with impressive 6’6” headroom, warm cherry interior, and a durable teak-and-holly cabin sole. The main salon is spacious and comfortable, featuring a large convertible dinette to port and additional seating to starboard, providing plenty of room for dining, entertaining, or relaxing while underway. Natural light fills the cabin through multiple opening ports and deck hatches, creating an inviting living space.
The navigation station located to port is a dedicated chart table, electrical panels, and space for navigation electronics and storage for charts and manuals. Just aft is the guest head, which features a marine toilet, vanity with sink, shower area, and additional storage.
Opposite the navigation station to starboard is the fully equipped galley, designed for practical use while cruising. The galley features a two-burner propane stove with oven, stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressure water, refrigerator, and ample cabinet storage for cookware and provisions.
Forward of the salon is the guest's stateroom, offering a comfortable V-berth with storage lockers, shelving, and hanging space.
Aft of the companionway to port is the master stateroom, which provides a generous double berth tucked beneath the cockpit. This cabin includes a hanging locker, opening ports for ventilation, and storage for cruising gear.
With its thoughtful layout, generous headroom, and comfortable accommodations for family and guests, the 2008 Hunter 38 cruising sailboat delivers a highly functional interior designed for extended coastal cruising or relaxing weekends on the water.
