VESSEL DESCRIPTION
"LELE WAI" is a fiberglass trawler built in Taiwan in 1980. She has a displacement hull, raked bow, and square transom with attached boarding platform. The vessel is powered by twin Perkins 4-236 engines and carries an estimated 400 gallons of fuel in three tanks. On deck forward she is arranged with teak bow pulpit, anchor bow roller, electric windless, and wood king post. Walking aft from the bow, the cabin trunk steps up in two stages and there is a skylight hatch over the forward cabin. The cabin has teak-framed windows and portlights on all sides. The decks are surrounded by ten-inch gunwales with a teak cap rail. The gunwales are topped with stainless steel stanchions that support solid teak handrails. There are boarding gates aft and on each side. Side decks lead aft to the aft deck, which has a deck hatch on center for access to the steering gear compartment. Stairs on the aft cabin exterior lead up to the flybridge area, which includes a starboard side helm station and fore and aft facing passenger bench seating. The cabin companionway doors are located on the
starboard side, just forward of amidships and on the aft side of the cabin trunk to port. Down below, the vessel is arranged with a forward berth cabin with enclosed head aft to port and hanging locker opposite to starboard.
Walking aft and up four steps is the main salon with in-line galley and straight settee to port, and helm station and U-shaped dinette to starboard. Hatches in the salon floor lift up for access to the engines, fuel tanks, and battery installation. Moving aft and down several stairs is the aft cabin, with enclosed head with shower and double berth to starboard and in-line drawers and cabinets to port.
