Description and history.

Beta Wave is a 1995 Catalina 320 sloop, hull #206, purchased new in St Louis in October 1994. In fall of 2015, she was trucked to Naples Boat Yard where she was been crusing and enjoying SWF.

Mar ‘00, installed Autoprop and PSS dripless shaft seal

Nov ’18, Replace 4D batteries with Trojan T-105 Deep Cycle batteries, add dedicated starting battery and Blue Sea automatic charging relay

Apr ’19, all new electronics, incl Axiom 9, autopilot, stereo, SeaTalk system

Nov ’19, Navpro 40A battery charger

Dec ’19, Forespar whisker pole added to mast

Dec ’19, Froli sleep system, Tufted Topper added to aft stateroom

Feb ’20, All interior cushions reupholstered by Jay’s Fabrics

Oct ’23, Balmar 100A alternator kit with MC-618 multi-stage regulator

Oct ’23 Balmar SG200 Battery Monitor

Mar ’24, Broken exhaust valve. Engine head rebuilt by Trans Atlantic Diesels incl new injectors and glow plugs. Upgraded rocker arms installed (original “tilting pad design” was reason exhaust valve broke in first place). New cast iron exhaust heat exchanger housing installed along with stainless steel exhaust elbow. Mechanical work performed by Ahmet Celik.

Beta Wave s a Mast head sloop with a shoal draft wing keel, and a spade rudder making her ideal for crusing SW Florida.
