Description
Penelope (ex Princess Gloria/Stampede) is a 118’ expedition motor yacht built by Delta Marine, originally delivered in 1990 and extensively refit in 2006–2008 and again in 2024. Built on a proven commercial fishing hull with GRP construction and a full-displacement form, she offers unmatched seaworthiness and efficiency. A 12‑foot hull extension engineered by Delta Design Group created her signature fishing cockpit and lengthened her to 118 feet, transforming her into a serious sportfishing mothership as well as a comfortable family cruiser.
Powered by twin Caterpillar 3412 TA diesels rated at 624 hp each (complete in‑frame overhaul in 2016), Penelope achieves a top speed of 12 knots and cruises efficiently at 10 knots with an impressive 6,000‑nautical‑mile range at 10 knots, burning approximately 32 gallons per hour for the mains plus one generator. She carries 20,000 gallons of diesel, 2,000 gallons of fresh water and a 450‑gallon tender refueling station. Naiad 503 fin stabilizers and a 100‑hp hydraulic Schottel bow thruster provide excellent stability and maneuverability. Electrical power comes from two 75‑kW Caterpillar 3306B generators and a new 65‑kW Northern Lights night generator (installed November 2025).
The deck layout is designed for adventure. The flybridge features a hardtop with helm station, hot tub, wet bar and ample C‑shaped seating. On the boat deck, dedicated hydraulic cranes handle two sizable tenders (an 18’9” Egret with Yamaha VF115LA and a 17’ Hells Bay repowered in 2024), along with racks for kayaks/paddleboards and a Sea‑Doo GTX Limited 300 (new in 2024). The aft deck provides teak dining for ten guests with steps up to the boat deck and down into the cockpit. The purpose‑built fishing cockpit boasts 15 rod holders, a massive livewell, 600‑lb/day ice chipper, fish boxes, extensive gear lockers and a 450‑gallon gasoline fueling station. Forward, twin Steen windlasses handle two 1,100‑lb stockless anchors with 720’ of chain each.
Accommodations for eight guests are arranged in four staterooms: a full‑beam king‑berth master suite with en‑suite head (dual sinks and separate shower); two queen‑berth VIP staterooms aft, each with en‑suite head; and a twin cabin forward with two singles and en‑suite head. A convertible gym/office provides flexibility for guests. Crew accommodations support up to seven crew members with a captain’s cabin and crew cabins forward plus full laundry facilities.
Recent refits from 2023‑2025 include a new Atlas shore power converter, installation of the night generator, upgraded ice‑making and refrigeration systems, dual Starlink Maritime antennas for high‑speed internet, and a comprehensive AV/CCTV refresh with new Luma PTZ and fixed network cameras. All soft goods were renewed in 2024, complementing earlier multi‑million‑dollar refits that redesigned her interiors, added a 12‑ft hull extension and new teak decks.
Navigation and electronics are extensive: two Furuno NavNet radars, multiple Furuno NavNet chartplotters, a Garmin GPS Map 840xs, Simrad AP50 autopilot, Danforth compasses, Furuno sonar, AIS, Standard Horizon, Quantum and Uniden VHF radios, an ICOM SSB, KVH VSAT and twin Starlink Maritime systems. These systems, combined with her robust machinery and expedition‑capable fuel and water capacities, make Penelope ready to cruise to remote destinations in safety and style.

Accommodations
Penelope accommodates eight guests in four well-appointed staterooms. The full-beam master suite features a king berth with an en-suite head offering dual sinks and a separate shower.
Two VIP staterooms aft each have queen berths and en-suite heads with showers.
Forward, a twin cabin provides two single berths and an en-suite head. A convertible gym/office on the starboard side forward offers additional flexibility for guests.
Crew accommodations support up to seven crew members, including a captain’s cabin with private head, port and starboard forward crew cabins with shared heads, and a crew pantry with full laundry facilities.
Propulsion & Machinery
Penelope is powered by twin Caterpillar 3412 TA diesel engines rated at 624 BHP each at 1,800 rpm. These commercial‑duty engines underwent a complete in‑frame overhaul in 2016 and currently show approximately 3,240 hours since rebuild on the port engine (15,140 total) and 3,304 hours since rebuild on the starboard engine (15,144 total).
Power is transmitted through Twin Disc MG‑516 reduction gears with a 5:1 ratio turning custom five‑blade propellers. Fuel consumption at a 10‑knot cruise is approximately 32 gallons per hour (mains plus one generator), delivering a 6,000‑nautical‑mile range. Naiad 503 fin stabilizers and a 100‑hp Schottel hydraulic bow thruster provide excellent stability and maneuvering control.
Electrical Generation
Electrical power aboard Penelope is supplied by two 75 kW Caterpillar 3306B generators and a new 65 kW Northern Lights night generator installed in November 2025. The port and starboard Caterpillar generators underwent top‑end rebuilds in 2022 and currently show approximately 3,500 and 3,355 hours, respectively.
The Northern Lights night generator has around 100 hours since installation. A new 70.5‑kVA Atlas shore‑power converter installed in 2023 provides global voltage and frequency compatibility, ensuring seamless operation on shore power.
Performance & Capacities
With twin Caterpillar 3412 TA engines, Penelope reaches a maximum speed of 12 knots and cruises efficiently at 10 knots. At 10 knots she offers an impressive 6,000‑nautical‑mile range while consuming approximately 32 gallons of fuel per hour (mains plus one generator). She carries 20,000 gallons of diesel fuel, 2,000 gallons of fresh water and a 450‑gallon gasoline tender refueling station, supporting extended voyages without frequent resupply.
Stabilization & Maneuvering
Penelope is equipped with Naiad 503 fin stabilizers that were fully serviced in 2021, providing excellent roll reduction both underway and at anchor. For maneuvering in tight harbors, she features a powerful 100 hp Schottel pump‑jet bow thruster that works in concert with her twin‑disc gearboxes and hydraulic steering system. Together these systems deliver precise handling and smooth control in all sea conditions.
