Lyle Hess got it absolutely right when he designed the BCC 28 for Sam L. Morse to build out of the new boat building material, fiberglass. Lyle's genius is evident from the 127 BBCs built at the Sam L. Morse Co. between 1976 and 2008.
The BCC was featured in Ferenc Mate's first Volume of "The Best Boats to Buy or Build and in his two later volumes of "The World's Best Sailboats".
Construction
White fiberglass hull with green/cream cove stripe; full keel with large stern hung rudder; tiller steering; fiberglass plywood cored cream decks with nonskid, new southern (202) mahogany bulwark and white oak rails, teak wood work, stainless steel stanchions and single life lines; bow sprit, 2 cabin hatches, 8 opening bronze ports with screens, tan spray hood for main hatch, 2X dorade vents, deep trench cockpit with teak coamings.
Accommodations
Forepeek chain locker with access door, marine enclosed head with holding tank/overboard discharge, stainless stee sink (new 2021), cold pressurized water, storage lockers; next aft is the main salon with settees, port pilot berth(slides open to a double berth); aft port galley with 2 burner and oven propane stove, stainless steel sink with manual and pressurized cold water(40 Gal tank) ice box and storage; opposite is a settee and quarter berth. LED interior and exterior lighting (new 2021). Sig Marine propane heater, Extensive storage through out, teak and holly cabin sole. Clock and barometer in the salon.
