Spellbound is a solid example of the popular Pearson 424. This very popular cruising boat has good fuel and water capacity, sailing performance, ICW capability, offshore capability, and a strong reputation in the liveaboard community.
She’s been well loved and well kept by her prior owners. She’s been recently repowered with a new Yanmar engine with less than 300 hours. She has many desirable upgrades, including new charge controller, solar panels, dinghy davits, radar, LED cabin lighting, DC refrigerator/freezer, propane cabin heater, serviceable cruising sails including a fully battened main and a 150% furling genoa, and spinnaker in a sock. She’s been cruising the East Coast with her current owner for the last 8 years and is ready to keep going to your next adventure. She’s a comfortable boat at sea that delivers a good turn of speed and excellent reaching performance, with a dry comfortable cockpit big enough to sleep in.
Below deck, the layout is spacious and great for one or two couples or a couple with kids. There are two separate double cabins, a standup dedicated shower stall, and two companionways, one to the cockpit and one to the deck. The large salon table seats 6 comfortably and the large cockpit table makes dining in the cockpit a nice choice in pleasant weather.

The cockpit is a wraparound arrangement comfortable for both sailing and lolling. High seat-backs provide good support and a large coaming keeps water on deck from entering the cockpit. The cockpit has a lot of hatches: two lockers port and starboard for sails or docking gear, a lazarette aft with more stowage, and a stove fuel locker for bottled gas (in this case LP gas) that is vented overboard for safety. Down the aft main companionway a double berth lies to port with plenty of lockers for storage. To starboard is the chart table with a swing out seat, which stows away when not in use. Below the companionway steps is the engine compartment. To starboard and forward is a head with a standup shower stall, toilet and sink basin. Forward to port is the U-shaped galley area with a large single sink, ample storage above the countertop, and LP stove / oven and an ice box with built-in refrigeration with freezer. From the galley forward is the main salon with a dinette with seating to port and starboard, and more storage lockers on each side. A V berth lies forward, with a hanging locker and head to starboard, and a wash basin to port.
