The Sea Ray 440 Express Bridge is a fine example of a sleek flybridge sport yacht. Its ergonomically designed interior and attention to detail distinguish it from its competitors. The 440 Express Bridge, with standard twin T - 292-hp - 218-KW Caterpillar T-VD-CAT3116TA powerplants and a carefully crafted hull, provides outstanding performance. The slip-stream exhaust with lift-type mufflers makes it quiet as well. With 400-gallons of fuel, 100-gallon pressure water system, and the best operational and safety systems afloat, this is one very advanced sport yacht. The walk-thru bridge has an adjustable captain's chair, forward and aft bench seating for guests, a wet bar with ice maker, and a cocktail table that stores out of sight. At the helm, a custom dash places every control, switch, gauge, and throttle at your fingertips. Raytheon electronics package includes GPS - Loran, VHF and Raydata multifunction instrument with depth finder, speed - sumlog, and water temperature. With a full aft bench seat and optional adjustable cocktail table, the roomy self-bailing cockpit provides plenty of space for entertaining. Tinted sliding glass doors lead from the cockpit to the salon. Two transom doors provide easy access to the swim platform. An optional TNT hydraulic marine lift swim platform is available. A bench seat for two is found on the foredeck. Access from the cockpit is via the deep recessed walkaround; from the bridge, simply step through the hinged venturi windshield. In the salon, a comfortable sofa - dinette converts to sleeping quarters for two. Guests will also enjoy the entertainment center with TV - VCR combination and Clarion AM - FM digital cassette and single CD stereo. The mid-stateroom has a full-size bed, cedar-lined hanging locker with mirrored door and large vanity. There's also a separate head with VacuFlush toilet and shower. The built-in vanity in the mid-stateroom has deep drawers and a large compartment to provide plenty of room to stow belongings. In the master stateroom, a full-size bed with innerspring mattress promises a good night's sleep. It features a private entertainment center with TV - VCR - radio combination, mirrored vanity with settee, generous storage, and private access to the master head. The master head can be accessed from the forward stateroom or the salon. It has a VacuFlush toilet, vanity, and shower with tempered glass door. The fully appointed galley has a three-burner electric stove, upright refrigerator - freezer, microwave and convenience package with coffeemaker, blender, and ice maker. Abaft the breakfast bar, a desk and chair provide a quiet place to plan the day's activities or your next dinner party.
Distinctive styling and an enormous full-beam interior are just two of the many features that made the 440 Express Bridge a popular model for Sea Ray in the mid 1990s. Like most “express bridge” designs with their space-saving V-drive power and low deckhouse profiles, the 440’s sunken salon utilizes the entire width of the hull to create a huge, wide-open floorplan laid out on a single level. With the engines under the cockpit there’s even room for an innovative mid-cabin stateroom — complete with a second head — beneath the molded cockpit bridge steps, something not seen in any previous express bridge models. Built on a fully cored hull with moderate beam and prop pockets to reduce the shaft angles, the 440’s huge, party-time flybridge is arranged with the wraparound helm console/settee on the centerline and additional bench seating forward. A walk-through gate in the flybridge coaming provides access to the foredeck with its built-in bench seating. The cockpit features a full bench seat at the transom as well as dual transom doors and a gas-assist hatch for engine access. Optional 340hp Cat diesels cruise the 440 Express Bridge at 20 knots and deliver a top speed of 23–24 knots.
