Fast, strong and with a sea-kindly hull design Call Me Ishmael is an excellent example of the Hylas 49. Solid FRP fiberglass construction with 8 longitudinal stringers and watertight bulkheads she is prepared for anything the sea can throw at her.

The deck is bonded to the hull with 5200 epoxy and thru bolted every 5". The modified fin keel is solid lead and is fully encapsulated. The full skeg protected rudder provides excellent directional stability and the bottom of the rudder is higher than the low point of the keel which protects it in cases of accidental grounding.
