Tim Kohl has spent a lifetime on the water. He grew up fishing the St. Lawrence River and went on to earn his USCG Captain’s license, logging over 1,000 documented days at sea. His time offshore and inshore has been filled with memorable adventures—including six Newport to Bermuda Races. With over 30 years of sailboat racing experience, Tim has competed in waters from Newport, Long Island Sound, and Maine to Finland, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, Key West, Charleston, Bermuda, and Annapolis. Now based in Newport, Rhode Island, Tim thrives in a vibrant coastal community that continues to fuel his love for sailing and the sea.
