Al grew up in St. Croix fishing, sailing Sunfish and competing in one-design and PHRF races. Never far from the water, he cruised on the East, West, Gulf Coasts, and was also on the U.S. Virgin Islands’ Soling team during the Los Angeles Olympics.
After completing a 25 year Navy career Al and his wife Mary were fortunate enough to cruise with their two daughters and son. During this adventure they cruised between Maine and the Bahamas. His most enjoyable experiences over the years have been time spent with family and friends cruising on power and sailboats.
