Jeffrey Gonos was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, the Yachting Capital of the World, where he was immersed in yachting from a young age. His father, a yacht captain, introduced him to boating, and his times on the water with his family are some of his fondest childhood memories.

Jeff started his career in yachting as a mate and quickly worked his way up to captain. Today, in addition to being a yacht salesman, he is an internationally licensed captain with a 200/500 ton USCG license. Jeff also has been involved in yacht management as an owner’s agent on several major refit projects. During his more than 20 years running boats, he has managed rebuilds, engine replacements, complete electronic upgrades, teak deck replacements, and a variety of other projects.

He began buying and selling boats for owners and clients a few years ago and found he was able to provide an experienced perspective and valuable insight. As a team member at Merle Wood & Associates, one of the most successful brokerage firms in the world, Jeff will focus on the purchase and sale of production motoryachts.

Jeff brings his passion for the ocean and yachting along with extensive knowledge about the boating industry to our expert team of brokerage professionals offering more than 250 years of combined experience representing buyers, sellers, and charterers of motor and sailing yachts of all types and sizes.

Jeff is married and has twin girls. In his free time he enjoys paddle boarding, wakeboarding, flying small planes, outdoor activities with his kids, and exploring new places with his wife.
