Mathias Chouraki
Mathias Chouraki grew up sailing in Normandy, France. He spent most of his summers teaching at the local sailing school or windsurfing when the wind was too strong to hold sailing classes. After college, Mathias moved to St. Barths in the French Caribbean to open a restaurant with his brother. He lived there for five years. After selling the restaurant, business opportunities took Mathias to New York where he quickly realized the lack of opportunities for locals to charter boats. He decided to start his own charter company in Manhattan. Mathias grew his charter and management company from one to more than 15 boats in New York and Long Island. He, along with other business partners, also developed a related franchise to more than 35 locations around the world.
The close relationships and trust Mathias cultivated with his clients made him a natural adviser when it came time for them to purchase yachts of their own, and so in a natural progression, Mathias became a full-time sales broker after selling his charter and management company in 2008. Mathias maintains his USCG's Captain License and travels frequently to the South of France and Italy on behalf of his clients. His exceptional listening skills and yachting industry expertise are invaluable to his clients when choosing the right yacht to fit their needs and aspirations.
Mathias and his wife Janet live in TriBeCa with their daughter Stella; they enjoy spending time sailing in the Hamptons during the summer.
