Mike Disotelle

Mike's passion for boating was ignited during his childhood, growing up as the only son of a dedicated fisherman and charter captain on Lake Ontario. His boating adventures expanded over the years, taking him to lakes in Tennessee and North Carolina, and eventually leading to bareboat charter vacations in the Florida Keys and the British Virgin Islands (BVI). These experiences planted the seed for his dream of completing the Great Loop.
In 2013, Mike began planning for the Great Loop with the intention of embarking on this journey upon his retirement from the corporate world, where he worked as a business leader in the textile industry. However, after his company was acquired twice within three years, Mike decided to take a year off from the corporate rat race and completed the Great Loop in 2017—a decision he regards as one of the best he ever made.
Now, having fully retired from the corporate world, Mike is channeling his passion for boating and cruising into helping others find their ideal boat to pursue their own dreams.
Mike is set to transit the Great Loop again this year aboard his Carver 455. You’ll find him trailing the pack, starting from the St. Johns river in early May.
