Paul Brindeau
Paul was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. He grew up diving, fishing and surfing the wild South African coastline. Paul honed his boat handling skills in his early twenties racing sailing regattas and skippering a 22m commercial ferry in a notoriously traitorous sea area for international tourists for 4 years.
After completing his Maritime Studies at the Cape Technikon combined with his cadetship on supply vessels servicing offshore oil rigs off the West Coast of Africa and “Tramping” on bulk carriers, eventually circumnavigating the world, Paul received his Commercial Navy OOW (Officer of the Watch) Unlimited license.
Paul then joined forces with his wife (who is a qualified chef) and together over the last 20 years they were fortunate to crew on some pretty amazing super yachts all over the Mediterranean, USA, Caribbean, Bahamas and even Alaska.
When the time came for family, Paul and his wife settled back in Cape Town where they had two little girls. During this time Paul worked as a yacht broker for Boating World where he learnt the art of buying and selling boats.
Paul was head-hunted by a prominent Palm Beach family to run their 112ft Sanlorenzo motor yacht and so he returned to the USA where he now lives with his family. He currently holds an MCA 200gt Captain / Chief officer 3000gt license and an RYA 200gt Captain’s license.
Paul’s “All-Time-Favorite” boating destination is the Exuma’s and he is passionate about enabling others to share the incredible experiences he has been so fortunate to have on and in the ocean.
