John is an eastern NC native, where he acquired his first boat at age 13. After serving with the Army Special Forces Airborne as a medic and then as a physician’s assistant with UNC Memorial Hospital Chapel Hill, NC John’s love of the coast and sailing could no longer be denied. He moved to Beaufort NC in 1981 and joined Beaufort Yacht Sales. John was the first yacht broker in the state of NC certified by the prestigious Yacht Brokers Association of America. Cruising the Caribbean was a passion for John from a young age and he has been enjoying more time during the winter months of late visiting the Bahamas.
