Ray was born and raised in South Africa. He has been in the yachting industry for 22 years, starting as a deckhand and currently captaining an OA 85. While obtaining his degree in marketing and business management, Ray worked for Nissan SA as a new car salesman. After taking a year to travel internationally, he moved to London and transitioned into finance as a buy side trader for Genesis asset management. His future goal is to continue working in the yachting industry, using and imparting the knowledge Ray gained over the years. His passions are golf and fishing, traveling, and socializing. Ray been married to his wife for almost 16 years, and they call Savannah, Ga. their home. In 2016, Ray proudly became a US citizen.
