Northrop & Johnson Yacht Broker Dennis Moran hails from the beautiful Pacific Northwest and his early years were spent cruising the Columbia River on his family’s sailboat. During the summer months, he crewed on boats voyaging to Canada and the San Juan Islands.

After moving to Newport Beach in Southern California in the 1960s, he joined the newly opened Ardell Yacht & Ship Brokers in Newport Beach as one of the original sales staff and was part of the team for over 40 years except for a two year sabbatical in the late '70's to captain a 57' S & S sailboat. 

Dennis is an avid sailor and has participated in numerous sailing races to Hawaii and Mexico. He has cruised extensively on both power and sail in the Pacific Northwest, Canada, Alaska, Mexico and the Caribbean, which is a priceless asset when working with discerning clients. Dennis also offers more than four decades of yacht brokerage experience, ensuring his ability to create a seamless and enjoyable sale or purchase process for his clients.

Dennis also is a dedicated member of the yachting and maritime industries having held positions as President of the California Yacht Brokers Association (CYBA), member of the CYBA Board of Directors, Arbitration Administrator for the CYBA, Subject Matter Expert for the California Department of Boating & Waterways on Salesmen & Broker License Exam Revision Project, Board Member – Catalina Island Conservancy Marineros and more.
