AKU AKU (originally REMINISCE) was designed by the renown trawler expert, Steve Seaton, as an economical, seaworthy cruiser. Built of fiberglass by Cooper Queenship Yachts, she has a handsome traditional interior of raised panel Cherry wood and Elm Burl. Her main salon, dining salon and media room/den have vaulted ceilings with rich fabric inlays. Having been mechanically well maintained over the years, she is an excellent choice for anyone wanting an elegant, four stateroom yacht that is efficient, and capable of offshore cruising.     The salon furnishings were designed and built by Morse & Associates and include (2) chairs, fringed ottoman, sofa, end and coffee tables.

    Dining

    Forward of the salon in the dining area with a certified 1812 Duncan Fife table that expands to accommodate eight with coordinating Baker chairs, finished with leather seats. A built‐in buffet with granite top, and custom china and crystal built‐in storage cabinetry fulfill the needs of formal dining.

    Galley

    The galley is forward of the dining area and sound insulated with direct access from both side decks for easy crew accessibility and loading ship’s stores. Cabinets are brushed stainless inside/out with maple trim and concealed hinges. Counter top is 1 3/4” laminated maple. The floor is urethane tongue-in-groove maple. This galley offers a very professional atmosphere and a very solid feel.

    Forward to starboard is a stairwell leading up to a very ample and comfortable pilothouse with 360‐degree visibility. Furnished and equipped to extraordinary detail, U‐shaped settee with large burled cherry table offers seating for eight and built‐in chart drawers, storage and 2 hanging lockers. The helm was intelligently thought out with separate stations for steering and navigation without interference. Doors to port and starboard access a full walk around Portuguese bridge with wing controls and large lounge area and boat deck aft. All glass is 3/8” with tinted side windows and clear windshield, for maximum visibility day or night.

    Master Stateroom

    This master suite is accessed via circular stairway from the main salon and is full width of the vessel. Special features include his & her bathrooms with marble counters, gold fixtures, a large adjoining walk‐in shower, bidet, over‐sized hanging lockers and storage compartments, desk, vanity, dresser, custom bedding, wool carpet. The warmth of wood is continued throughout. Just aft is a laundry room with full household size washer and dryer, large cabinets, and built‐in hinged ironing board. Access to the engine room and Crew quarters are just aft of the master, enabling the owner to keep a pulse on the vessel's vital components.

    Guest Staterooms

    Forward of the galley and study is a stairwell that accesses additional guest accommodations. Immediately forward of the stairwell is a suite with centerline walkaround queen berth. The ensuite vanity with sink and mirror and privately situated head and shower give the feel of an old‐fashioned bed and breakfast. The continuation of wood confirms that homey feeling. Avonite sink top; gold plated fixtures, maple cabinets with burl trim, stainless portholes with covers, hanging locker with aromatic cedar, generous under berth storage, tile floors in head, TV, VCR, stereo, CD player, telephone/intercom & Maretron Nav center complete this suite.

    Just aft of the stairwell from above is one of the two matching guest suites, each with two over-sized double berths, which are adjoined by a night stands vanity. An ensuite head with shower, tile floors, Avonite countertop, gold plated fixtures, stereo CD player, stainless port lights with covers, generous under berth storage, custom bedding wool carpeting, padded walls with double welting of contrasting color, ultra‐suede ceilings and maple cabinetry complete this very comfortable and well‐rounded suites.

    Across the companionway and just aft of the stairwell from above is the other matching staterooms with twin oversized berths with adjoining night stand/vanity. An ensuite head and shower, tile floors, Avonite countertop, gold plated fixtures, stereo CD player, stainless port lights with covers, generous under berth storage, custom bedding, wool carpeting, padded walls with double welting of contrasting color, ultra‐suede ceilings and maple cabinetry are repeated in this suite. The passageway is paneled with cherry wood, carpeted with the same woven wool as throughout, and offers a full‐length mirror and an additional laundry center.

    The boat deck features a Custom aluminum mast fitted with exterior mounts and antennas. No antennas have been bolted or screwed to the vessel other than on the mast. The tender sits on chocks, which are removable to create a larger sun lounging area. There is a MarQuipt 2,500 lb. capacity Davit mounted to starboard. This deck also features a large U-shaped lounge area with cushions. Just up flanking stairwells from a reverse style transom is a very ample lounge/settee which seats 6 to 8 comfortably.
