Hull
OFF-LINE is of all fiberglass construction, solid from the
waterline down. Her hull sides, deck, and superstructure
all have balsa cores. She has full cored bulkheads and
longitudinals as needed.
She is a fully molded shape with a box keel and bulbous
bow. Each of the props is on a full skeg. There is a full
steel shoe that runs the length of the keel and steel
shoes on the skegs. She carries 20 tons of lead ballast.
There is an access plate into the bulb. Above the bulb is a
stainless steel cutwater. Immediately aft is the 16" bow
thruster tube.
OFF-LINE Features enormous fiberglass stabilizer fins
measuring 47"X70" or 22Sq. Ft. Each. These fins are
large for a yacht of this size, and provide incredible
stability at slow speeds. They are controlled by Naiads
digital control head
BILGE LAYOUT:
There are 16 stations. Starting forward is the bulbous
bow. The bulbous bow is a separate watertight
compartment. Immediately aft is a watertight bow
thruster compartment with a freeman hatch in the crew
area floor for access. On the top of this compartment is
the crew area floor making this a collision bulkhead that
protects the knuckle of the bow. Aft of the bow thruster
compartment is a machinery space. At the aft end of the
machinery space is a bolted aluminum hatch for access
into the centerline beneath the guest accommodations.
Aft of that is the engine room. Aft of that is the lazarette
area.
There are two main raw water intakes in the engine room
(sea chests). They are fiberglass standpipes with cupro
nickel logs, to witch are attached bronze ball valves.
There are individual sea strainers for each piece of
equipment.
In the bow thruster compartment is the bow thruster
tube and hydraulic motor. The thruster is a counter
rotating dual 5 blade by American Bow Thruster. Also in
this compartment are two control blocks, one for the
hydraulic bow thruster and one for the hydraulic
windlasses. Also located here is the plumbing for the bulb
bow discharge and fill. Aft is an automatic bilge pump and
high water alarm. Alongside is an emergency bilge
pickup.
Next aft is the forward machinery space. Port and
Starboard are the two forward fuel wing tanks. These
tanks have large manholes. In the centerline is the
hydraulic lift for the forward looking sonar. All the way aft
are the two RUUD 30 gallon hot water heaters. Beneath
are two headhunter portable water pumps with soft
starts. Outboard and aft in this compartment are the two
stabilizer heads.
Beneath the guest accommodations are a centerline gray
water tank, and a centerline black water tank. The aft
end of this compartment has an automatic bilge pump,
high water alarm, and emergency bilge pickup.
The engine room has an automatic bilge pump, and
emergency bilge pickup. The lazarette likewise has an
emergency bilge pump, and an automatic.

all the way forward in custom chutes, and are shackled to
400' of 1/2" hitest anchor chain. Pair of Muir hydraulic
windlasses with vertical capstans and gypsies is bolted
through polished stainless steel plate with scupper drains
and dam.

Notes
Off Line was a collaboration of Northern Marine and Delta Marine in the Pacific Northwest. Orginally built with virtually an unlimited budget. Off Line is the only twin engine built in this model.
Off Line is an amazing example of a true expedition yacht built to cruise the world. This owner has maintained the yacht with an open checkbook. I have seen 3 and 4 year old yachts that do not show as well. The interior is comfortable with an air of homeyness about it. The engine room is spotless. Off Line was painted a few years ago. This is a must see yacht
