Description

This specific vessel, "Leonore," is designed for shorthanded sailing, featuring strategically placed line runs, hydraulic controls, and electric winches to facilitate easy handling.

One of the standout features of "Leonore" is its thoughtfully designed pilothouse. It provides a comfortable and protected space for the crew, offering excellent visibility across the foredeck. The well-placed windows and their angles create a bright and opulent salon, enhancing the overall elegance of the interior.

A great design is only the beginning. The build quality, material selection, and execution must also be top-notch to create such a remarkable vessel. Fortunately, Kelly Archer Boatbuilders of New Zealand were chosen for this project, and they exceeded expectations. Their superior craftsmanship and choice of materials are evident throughout the yacht.

This world-cruising yacht is perfect for adventurous voyages off the beaten path, ensuring safety and comfort. Meanwhile, its sleek lines, flawless finish, and stylish design make it a standout in any harbor.

Full Details

Design

"Leonore" was custom-built for a US-based purchaser with a focus on fast passage-making with a small crew. Emphasis was placed on enabling the steering, trimming, and handling of sails from the cockpit with limited crew. The deck layout and selected gear facilitate this, with hydraulically powered sail controls and electric winches all within easy reach.

The pilothouse offers fantastic views in a climate-controlled environment, whether sailing or moored. Below deck, the yacht features a stunning teak interior with ample space for entertaining and relaxation, including a galley that any chef would appreciate. The large aft cabin provides exceptional space and privacy for the owners, while two forward cabins offer comfortable accommodations for guests or crew, each with its own ensuite head.

A standout feature is the engine room, which, at the time of her launch, was considered the largest of its kind for an 80’ yacht. The combination of the “Paine Keel” and Matrix Carbon Fiber Masts ensures exceptional performance and stability.

Bermuda Series Chuck Paine Yacht Design: "Bermuda Series designs emphasize safety, minimal heeling, private bathrooms with unlimited fresh water, and other luxuries. Naval architecture is a branch of “real” architecture and that involves interior design. The Paine designers have created some of the most splendid interiors ever contorted to fit into the hull of a yacht. Paine designed yachts today have all the comforts and luxuries of a waterfront home."
