Description

Ke Ama II is a magnificent luxury cruising yacht designed by Radford (design R23M) and built to Uniform

Shipping Laws Code (USLC) Class 2B by Allan Ellis Custom and fitted out by Alloy Engineering and Marine,

Ballina N.S.W.

The yacht has always been privately owned and was built and equipped to commercial class

2B survey standards, she was in fact rarely used for commercial purposes, her owners preferring to keep her

for their private use.

Ke Ama II has her place amongst internationally renowned Super-yachts. Built and equipped to high spec by the original owner, standards were maintained and equipment upgraded constantly by her second and last owner who has generously donated the vessel to Ocean Voyages Institute (a non-profit) whose mission is to rid the oceans of the scourge of plastic!

She has a full time crew and skipper on board at all times, which ensures that she receives ongoing attention and is always handled professionally.

Reminiscent of a time when sailing yachts were built for wealthy and discerning owners, when production boats had not yet made their full appearance to impact the standards of ship building, Ke Ama II displays in every detail the level of expertise necessary to build a boat of this caliber.

From the shipwright skills visible in even the smallest joinery detail, to the expansive use of solid, luxurious timbers, top of the range fittings, leathers, high grade stainless steel, etc. your first sight of Ke Ama II will leave no doubt in your mind that you are looking at a vessel of rare pedigree, which, beneath her graceful lines, possesses immense strength, and whose spacious, luxurious interiors do not compromise on the yacht's seakeeping abilities, ease of handling, speed which all combine to achieve what the owners wanted: a strong, safe, fast yacht, an object of beauty, yet capable of taking them anywhere in the world in absolute luxury.

Captain’s comments aboard Ke Ama II "This is one of the finest sailing/ performance cruising yachts I’ve had

the pleasure to be aboard."

Robust construction and pleasing lines make her comfortable at sea and pretty to look at while on the hook. She is safe and fast. Sail setting and reefing is easily handled by two people. The large fully battened Spectra mainsail is easily managed even in heavy weather.

Due to the laws governing non-profits Ke Ama II is only available on a lease/purchase basis which results in a rare opportunity to acquire this fine yacht for a low down payment with contracted lease payments over 34 months ending in a balloon payment at which time ownership is transferred.

Accommodations and Walkthrough

Ke Ama can easily be accessed from the water, thanks to her spacious lower-aft deck fitted with a swim ladder

designed to allow divers with heavy equipment to safely climb back on board, or when accessed by tender, to

provide a well-protected, step-off platform. This aft-platform area is also fitted with a hot and cold shower,

perfect for rinsing dive equipment or after a swim.

The hard bottom inflatable is stowed on the hydraulic davits on the stern, easy to launch and retrieve.

In spite of her incredibly roomy cockpit / deck lounge, Ke Ama II offers a wide expense of usable, clear deck

space, both forward of the mast and aft, where a level, sheltered from the wind and free of clutter area, is a

favorite of sun-worshipers and perfect for getting water toys ready to be launched. This area also offers access

to two huge and well-organized lazarettes ; one containing the dive-compressor and other diving equipment,

and the other a large deep freezer, ice-maker, fishing tackle and gear, and other dedicated storage.

The cockpit and deck lounge are a haven of comfort and luxury in all weathers. It is close enough to the helm

and controls to be able to speak to the skipper and enjoy watching the action, yet removed enough to not

encumber it. Versatile all weather covers provide protection from the wind or rain as needed. This area, one of

the most well frequented of the yacht is equipped with a beautifully varnished, solid teak table with folding sides,

comfortable sitting for 10 people, good night lighting and a top of the range sound system.

The helm is situated to provide excellent visibility and quick access to the deck if needed. All electronic

equipment and controls to/for hydraulics are available at the touch of a finger. An opening roof hatch above the

helm seat provides good cross-ventilation in hot weather as well as a good view to the sails. The cockpit roof

and forward dodger were designed as part of the yacht’s integral lines, constructed of aluminum, with framed

tempered glass dodger forward. The overall structure is immensely solid and will resist any weather onslaught.

Entry into boat interior is from the deck top lounge and cockpit area, just starboard side of the captain’s station.

To enter, descend stairs to the main salon completed in American Beech with teak and holly sole. All seating

areas, elevated from walkway, unlike most salons of yachts this size, afford views out of this interior main salon

to starboard and port sea or at anchor views above deck level. The overall effect upon entering the yacht is of

modern opulence, comfort and light. The table being elevated means that one can enjoy the full spectacle of the

views over the ocean or harbor during the day, which is one of the greatest improvements on boat building

designs of recent years. The windows are created to provide light and a feeling of space. They are designed in

a way as to maintain the overall strength and integrity of the yacht.

Directly starboard is the captain’s chart table, office center & electric panel, with a large, centrally located bar

fridge adjacent and forward of this office center that is flanked by two wide sofa type leather chairs.

From the main salon, stairs descend to the guest staterooms, beyond and above on the aft port salon wall, is a

33- inch Samsung flat screen TV, facing the full salon lounge areas. There is a state-of-the-arts Bose stereo

system + a separate stereo system enabling dual and concurrent use of TV & stereo music for both the upper

pilothouse lounge / main interior salon, as desired.

Forward of the main salon, is the galley and crew/pantry area. Starboard is the crew’s dinette & lounge area,

and a large pantry, with their own 32” flat screen Samsung TV above the descent through the main bulkhead

door entry to the engine room. To port is the galley, with stove, refrigerator, freezer, spacious cabinets and

counters. In keeping with the design demands of a fully crewed Superyacht, the galley was built to be the

domain of the hosting crew, capable of providing surface areas and appliances necessary to provide with the

needs of large dinner parties on board, safely and efficiently. This galley is nevertheless a lovely space for the

owner and family to enjoy at all time. It is bright, well set-up, easy to use, and as with the rest of the yacht

presenting in immaculate condition.

Walking forward from the galley through a watertight bulkhead, is the crew head & shower on the port side, with

the washer/dryer equipment directly across. Forward of these, through another bulkhead, is the upper & lower 4

berths crew cabin. The upper berths are oversized and the design keeping with the quality and comfort shown

throughout the boat. Should the boat be owned by a skipper/owner without the need for crew, this area would

be perfect for guests, as contrarily to other yachts, which crew accommodations are often far less comfortable,

and/or of a different design than the rest of the boat, Ke Ama II’s accommodations remain undifferentiated in

luxury and quality of fit out.

Going back aft to the main salon now, descending a few steps and passing through another watertight bulkhead

is another series of cabins, with to begin with a 3 berths guest cabin, opposite another guest cabin with a double

bed. Both cabins have their own ensuite head and showers and are fitted with their own air conditioning, quality

bedding, reading lights and storage lockers.

Aft of the guest accommodations, through another watertight bulkhead, you enter the spacious owner’s cabin.

As expected from a yacht of this standard, this bright and cheerful cabin was fitted out to the outmost luxury and

comfort. This very large and beautiful cabin occupies the whole width of the yacht. It is designed to be

comfortable in all weather conditions, and offers an incredible amount of usable space and privacy. This cabin

will accommodate the owners in luxury, with queen bed, lounge sofas, wardrobe closet with built-in safe,

temperature control, and a large ensuite with head and separate shower. This cabin is also equipped with a

surround-sound Bose stereo system, has its own large flat screen Samsung TV and audio-visual equipment.
