1998 Southern Wind 72'
1998 Southern Wind 72'
Description
MOTIVATED SELLERS, ALL REASONABLE OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED
VENTUROUS is the epitome of performance cruising pedigree, from the drawing board of Bruce Farr and built by Southern Winds Shipyard for serious offshore cruising. Unlike many of her sisterships, VENTUROUS was designed with a more ergonomic rig and deck layout to allow for shorthanded sailing. With the crew quarters, galley, engine room, nav station, and companionway to the sailing cockpit all located in the aft section of the boat, she was designed for owners who sail with crew, and/or for crewed charter work. With that said, since 2012, she has been lived aboard, cruised, and delivered by a couple in their 60’s, who only occasionally bring on additional crew (often amateur friends/family) for blue-water passage making.
She has benefited from significant money spent on updates under the current ownership and presents as a much younger yacht than her age would imply. She is simply the perfect boat for an experienced couple who wishes to cruise with minimal crew, or for the owner/operator looking to put her into the charter fleet.

INTERIOR ACCOMMODATIONS
Five cabins, with two crew quarters aft and three guest cabins forward. From the aft-cockpit companionway you enter into the nav station area, with captains’ quarters to port and a Pullman bunk cabin to port which accommodates two crew. These two cabins share a head and shower, located just forward of the cabins and next to the nav station. Walking forward, there is a large door that allows access into a spacious mechanical room with nearly full headroom. Up next is the pass-through galley to starboard, which opens into a palatial main salon that takes advantage of the full width of the beam. The salon boasts a settee to port which seats eight+ around an enormous table. Across the salon on the starboard side is a second settee bench with coffee/cocktail style table. Walking forward from the salon you’ll find a comfortable, ensuite guest cabin to starboard, a spacious owner’s stateroom to port with double berth and ensuite head, then a third and final guest cabin all the way forward, in a split V-berth format (two single berths).
