2016/2017 Refit

Barefeet underwent an extensive refit in 2016 and 2017, costing more than $600,000.

Engine Room

• 8v92TT Johnson & Towers engines (completely rebuilt)
• (Note: starboard engine was rebuilt again at 96 hrs.)
• Four turbochargers rebuilt
• New alternators
• New coolant and raw water pumps
• New fuel handling system and fuel control panel
• Groco oil change system for engines, transmissions, generator
• New Alfa-Laval fuel polishing system
• New Maretron fuel/water tank sending units

Electrical

• New bow-to-stern bonding system
• New 50amp shore power transformers
• Most wiring replaced throughout vessel
• Converted all lighting to 24vdc LED with new fixtures
• Added three additional battery banks (7 total)
• New batteries, all AGM except engine batteries
• New high amp battery chargers, several with backup
• Newmar electronics surge isolators

Plumbing

• Replaced most plumbing hoses and lines
• New freshwater Purasan Alantes heads (3)
• New Raritan 24v PurasanEX units (2)
• New macerators (2)

Hull

• Replaced all thru-hulls, seacocks, and strainers (Groco)
• Stripped and repainted bottom
• Replaced cutlass bearings
• Replaced props
• Rebuilt Vetus bow thruster
• Added oversize Vetus stern thruster

Electronics

• Raymarine 48-mile radar
• Raymarine AIS
• Raymarine GPS
• Raymarine heading sensor

Barefeet made improvements, updates, and maintenance in 2021 and 2022.
