Description
The Southern Cross 53 is known as an Australian-built version of a Hatteras with a modern open layout on the main deck and lots of volume. The single flush deck runs almost the full length of the vessel with no steps or bulkheads from the covered aft deck through the salon and galley all the way up to the helm. Side access doors on port and starboard provide easy access from the lower helm to the bow and side decks. Down below are 3 staterooms and 2 heads including an incredible redesigned primary stateroom with an oversized head with stall shower and large walk-in closet.
Audacious can be operated economically at trawler speeds or cruise at 18 knots if you need to get somewhere quickly, she has the upgraded 550hp engines, most had the 435s. Live-aboard owner-operators will love these features: the massive flybridge, stand up engine room, open layout in the salon/galley and the incredible primary stateroom.
With one owner since 1997, Audacious has been thoughtfully and tastefully updated over the years with a good maintenance history and is worth a look if you're in the market for a live-aboard trawler. She is in the water and available for showings by appointment.
