    COMMENTS BY HER DESIGNER

Comment by the designer, Germán Frers: "The Hallberg-Rassy 53 is designed with the cruising connoisseur very much in mind. She follows closely the tradition and philosophy behind my earlier Hallberg-Rassy designs. The hull shape was developed following the significant lessons learned from the intense research program carried out by our design office for the America's Cup.

Racing, they say, improves the breed. This is certainly the case with the 53 which, though not designed with competition in mind, benefits, particularly when sailing upwind from testing we carried out on keel and rudder shapes.

Her moderate displacement is in line with the yacht's strong construction and high level of equipment carried on board. Sail area too is generous, and coupled with the excellent stability gained from the 53's special bulb keel, performs well, even in light winds.

The overhangs are rather generous for her type and contribute to give the yacht an aspect of graceful elegance which will be maintained regardless of the passage of time."

    Comments from the Seller:

Arielle has been under the care of a very knowledgeable and experienced couple since 2013.

They have travelled the east coast of the US from Maine to Florida Keys. They made several trips to Bermuda. They completed their longest passage from Hampton VA to Antigua in 2019. They have been cruising the Caribbean Islands, BVIs, USVI, and Bahamas since 2019. They are currently in Galveston, Texas. She is set up as a comfortable, safe, and purposeful long passage maker for a couple.

    ACCOMODATIONS

    Tow Cabin plus office Layout

Finished in rich and highly desirable teak with satin varnish, she exudes the quality with which

she was built. Arielle was built by HR with the middle cabin as an office. This creates a large

private guest suite with head and stall shower when the salon door forward is closed when

having a guest couple aboard. With its curved settee, 6-person dining table, 2 signature HR

easy chairs, the main cabin provides ample room for relaxing and hospitality. The starboard

settee converts to a sea berth on passage with a built lee cloth. The walk through 2-person

The portside galley is bright, spacious and secure. The forward-facing navigation desk

and ship bookcases are to starboard next to the companionway.

    Master Stateroom:

The Aft Cabin with Centerline Berth and Ensuite head is bright and airy. There is a desk/Vanity to Starboard and a Love Seat to port. There are various hanging lockers and storage spaces throughout.

    Guest Stateroom:

Forward V berth with generous storage beneath, hanging locker and other storage lockers and

drawers. The forward head is to port from the office with a stall shower.

    Office:

The custom office is the middle cabin and is between the main saloon and forward cabin. Built by HR for the first original owner with the same interior teak. The flat desk can easily be converted to a middle berth with the addition of a custom mattress and lee board if desired.

    Galley:

The gally inhabits the walkway to the aft cabin allowing for great counter space and ample

storage with lockers above and below, in and outboard. With a double stainless sink, three

burner propane stove and oven, microwave, custom build deep two drawers stainless steel

Frigaboat refrigerator, SeaFrost cold plate freezer, teak spice rack, isotherm ice maker, trash

Compactor, everything a gourmet seafaring chef could possibly want or need is available. Even

enough room for a sous-chef to work alongside if desired.

    Navigation Desk Area:

The nav desk sits next to the companionway to starboard and is large and extensively equipped

with instruments. A comfortable upholstered seat, drawers, desk storage, locker and two large

Bookcase storage makes for a perfect Captain’s desk.

    Cockpit:

The protective yet spacious cockpit is equipped with the HR signature hard dodger. The Bimini

provides shade for the entire open cockpit aft of the hard dodger. A winter enclosure can secure

the cockpit from any severe weather. Custom high quality foam seat cushions provide

comfortable seating. A foldaway teak table and sturdy cup holder, white and red touch lighting

in the hard dodger ceiling adds to the enhanced comfort of “the family room” area of the yacht.

Underway, sails are set, shortened or fully furled without leaving the protection of the cockpit.

Arielle is equipped with electrical winches, instruments, repeaters, hydraulic sail controls,

hydraulic backstay and vang control, and VHF radio all within reach of the safety of the cockpit.

    Construction:

Hull and deck are E-glass and roving with Divinycell foam core, using polyester resin. Lead bolt

on keel. The bottom has an epoxy barrier coat. She has teak laid decks and a hard dodger. Stainless Steel double anchor roller on steam head. Stainless Steel engineered bow sprit.
