Description
Daphnae' is a serious, strong, shorthanded offshore schooner which is in fully sound and good condition ready to sail anywhere in the temperate world. She has strong rigging, strong hull, strong motor, and good sails and running rigging. Her hull is in great shape, was built FULLY GALVANIZED and has always been maintained. This is not a hurricane or restoration boat, she is just a good boat, that has had a good life and is for sail at a fair price.
With her split rig, her lifting keel and rudder, and her seaworthy shape, she is a boat that can really take you places... And in style, at a fair cost. There is also the possibility to continue working the Sea Scout program each summer for the right buyer.
One of the unique features of this vessel is the lifting keel which allows one to change the draft from 4 feet to 13 feet. This means she performs exceptionally while sailing and also has the ability to enter very shallow waters including many hurricane holes where she can be safely tucked into the mangroves in the event of a storm.
In 2022, her current owner and friends sailed Daphnae from the USVI to the Chesapeake Bay and proceeded to win the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race, an accomplishment not achieved by just any vessel (or sailor).
Daphnae is truly an exceptional vessel in need of a new caring owner to care for her and take her on new adventures.
Note: Daphnae was painted with dark gray primer during her Nov 2022 refit. She is now blue once again.

Accomodations
Daphnae is fitted out inside in a simple fashion utilizing plywood panels and basic joinery such that any hands on owner may access any area or even modify the interior to their needs, indeed she carries many different interior layouts throughout the season.
Her current layout is as follows:
- Forward most a large forepeak sail locker accessed from a large deck hatch
- Aft of the forepeak bulkhead is a pair of equal sized cabins made by splitting the space on centerline, giving at current a pair of bunk beds on port and a queen bed on starboard
- Aft there is a foyer with lockers and also the keel winch at the front of the keel box.
- The walkway aft is along the port side of the keel trunk with a pair of bunk beds outboard and also a head aft of that.
- At the aft end of the keel trunk the space opens to a chart table to port, the motor box on center (which forms the landing of the companionway ladder) and the galley to starboard.
- This large open area circles around the companionway ladder and is fitted with cabinets, drawer fridges, counter space, etc.
- Aft of the companionway occupying the aft end of the cabin is a large 'U'-shaped dinette easily able to seat 8-10, with a detailed folding table and storage all around.
- The master's cabin is forward of the galley, occupying the entire hull space to starboard the keel box and its whole length, having a queen bed and storage, and it could have a head fitted as well.
- Aft of the dinette, separated by a full bulkhead, is a large launderette accessed from a deck hatch in the cockpit.
