She features absolute impact resistance and structural integrity. The raised galley and navigation station feature wrap around tinted windows with reflective coating that reflects the sun's heat. The comfortable salon offers luxurious light-filled spaces for both formal dining and casual entertainment.  Both fore and aft master staterooms feature island berths which are elegantly configured for blue water sailing and living aboard. CALLISTI is professionally designed and custom built by Waterline Yachts of Sidney, British Columbia. You won’t find a better equipped and better conceived offshore yacht. CALLISTI is turn-key and ready to sail for any blue waters of your choosing.

The Waterline 50 represents an evolution of the popular 46 design, also by Ed Rutherford. Keeping many of the same design features, it has been widened in the stern section and offers a tasteful blend of function and luxury. The full wrap around windows enhance its modern style. Sail handling is made easy from the cockpit with lines led aft, powered winches and a Leisurefurl boom. The combination sail/chain locker forward provides ample storage for cruising gear.

    Coating System

The bottom is coated with two coats of Devoe ABC antifouling (or equivalent) paint of the owner's color choice.  The interior is sprayed with two coats of zinc-rich epoxy and hand brushed behind all framing. Two extra coats of epoxy are applied in the bilge area.

    Construction

The hull and deck are constructed of mild steel (minimum 44,000 PSI yield) with a plating thickness of 1" on the keel bottom, 1/4" on the keel sides, 3/16" on the hull skin, 11 gauge on the house, deck cockpit and transom and 10 gauge on the skeg and rudder. The transverse and longitudinal framing system is 1 ¼ x 1 ¼ x 3/16 angle. All seams are welded inside and out. Stainless steel attachment points provided on deck for stanchions, windlass, toe rails, chainplates, and companionway hatch. Integral in the keel structure is the baffled fuel tank. Below the fuel tank is a sealed, lead filled ballast bulb appendage. A separate propane locker is integral with overboard drainage. A forward sail locker with deck access provides a watertight collision bulkhead. A self-draining anchor tray is built in.
