Description
Meet Rose Marie, a beautiful and well maintained four cabin Feeling 486, she sustained damage in Carriacou during hurricane Beryl, and though easily fixed, she needs a little attention to her rig, transom, and pulpit.
Mechanically, she’s sound and up to date. The engine was replaced in 2021, along with all major electronics and her autopilot system. This gives peace of mind for anyone ready to put serious miles under the keel.
She’s currently hauled at Tyrell Bay Marina in Carriacou. When Hurricane Beryl swept through, Rose Marie was fortunate to escape with only minor damage, none of it structural. The hull and keel are solid, and the keel joint has been redone just to be sure. A dent in the bottom of the rudder was professionally repaired, and the integrity of the rudder was confirmed.
On deck, the bow pulpit and a small section of the forestay rail sustained damage. The backstay also needs replacing. These are manageable repairs, especially with easy access to marine professionals in Carriacou and nearby Grenada. In fact, the rigging company Turbulence has already inspected the rig and confirmed the next steps, including a recommended full rigging check in Grenada once the mast is un-stepped.
In May 2024, Rose Marie was professionally valued at €92,000. With just a few remaining repairs, she can be returned to full ocean-cruising readiness, and she’s priced accordingly, offering incredible value for a boat with so much going for her.
Whether your dream is crossing oceans, cruising the Caribbean, or finding a floating home in a peaceful anchorage, she is a rare find. She’s ready for her next chapter with you at the helm.
Boat History (from Owner)
"The boat first had a Norwegian owner who took great care of it and carried out a major refit in 2018, including the shrouds and the engine.
Rose Marie finished 3rd of its Class in the Arc Rally in 2018, in 13 days, despite racing against larger, newer and infinitely more expensive boats."
Owners Comments
"Rose Marie is a strong, reliable and spacious boat, with 4 cabins and 4 Heads. 2 of them have been transformed into storage compartments, very convenient if you intend to live aboard. She has been well cared of, and the big overhauls in 2018 and in 2021 make her very well equipped. She is adapted to the tropics with a lot of deck hatches, as well as to cold regions, thanks to its thorough central heating system.
The saloon can be transformed into a double berth, so the total accommodation is of 10 people. The galley is spacious, and she has a real full size navigation desk.
The engine was replaced by a new one in 2021. All the electronics and the autopilot as well.
She is at the shipyard in Tyrell Bay Marina in Carriacou, and suffered luckily during hurricane Beryl with only light damage.
- There are no signs of structural issues on the boat. The keel and the hull haven’t moved. We had the keel joint redone to be sure.
- The rudder was dented at its bottom. It has already been repaired, and there were no structural damages.
On deck :
- The bow pulpit was damaged.
- A small section of the forestay rail was also affected.
Mast and rigging :
A professional from the company Turbulence in Grenada inspected the rigging and climbed the mast. The backstay needs to be replaced (this can be done in Carriacou). Then it is advisable to go to Grenada to take down the mast at Turbulence, in order to over-hall the rigging and make sure that the boat is ready to sail away.
Rose Marie was valued at 92 000€ in May 2024, before the hurricane. With some little repairs she can be brought back to a reliable and up to date state, and sail again around the world."
