The Krogen 42 trawler yacht was designed and constructed for yachtsmen and women who prefer timeless to trendy and solid comfort to making waves. The wineglass transom of her full-keeled displacement hull rises out of the water for minimum drag, maximum efficiency. At 8 knots, her range is close to 2,000 nautical miles.

Claire is an outstanding example of the popular Kadey Krogen 42 pilothouse trawler. Her previous owner was a retired New England boatyard manager who commissioned an extensive professional refit of all systems and finishes. She consequently shows and performs as a much newer vessel and must be seen to be fully appreciated. Claire represents a unique opportunity to acquire an essentially remanufactured pilothouse 42 in turn-key condition. Most recent survey valuation of $210K.

Call to see her while you are relaxing on the Coast of Florida, you will not be disappointed.

Manufacturers Comments

There's no mistaking the rugged heritage of the Krogen 42 trawler yacht. Her forebears were hardworking shrimp boats built to respect the sea and ride out any weather. While her profile is far more refined and her quarters the height of comfort, the Krogen 42 is as salty and seagoing safe as those commercial fishing sister ships of yore.

The late naval architect and designer, James S. Krogen, was a master of merging the tried and true with fresh, innovative concepts, creature comforts and convenience. His near-three decades of commercial design gave extra dimension and distinction to his offshore pleasure craft. Outstanding performance is inherent.

You can cruise from ocean to ocean or simply while away a weekend in a nearby cove. The whole world of water is securely yours in this stalwart lady.

Claire's Overview

Claire is an outstanding example of the popular Kadey Krogen 42 pilothouse trawler. Her previous owner was a retired New England boatyard manager who commissioned an extensive professional refit of all systems and finishes. She consequently shows and performs as a much newer vessel and must be seen to be fully appreciated. Claire is the two head version with the starboard queen in the master cabin. The salon furniture is not built in. The forward and upper decks are non-skid Awlgrip over fiberglass and the side and aft lower decks are planked teak over fiberglass. Most of the husky teak trim is left bare for ease of maintenance, with only the salon doors, window frames and name boards varnished. Original low-hours Lehman 120 hp main and Onan 12KW generator have been constantly upgraded and are both in excellent running condition.

Claire is set up to function seamlessly at the dock, underway or on the hook. A powerful solar system with smart controller, massive battery bank and new inverter/charger means virtually no generator running time for normal refrigeration, lighting and entertainment loads when anchored or underway. At the dock you can run entirely off shore power or you can run the starboard 120 VAC panel off solar/inverter and the port panel (with staterooms air conditioning) off shore power.

Improvements in the last 2 to 4 years include a 960 watt solar system with sophisticated Midnight Solar smart controller and 1200 amp hour house bank, new 3kw Victron inverter/charger, 9 in Axiom GPS/plotter with new backbone in pilothouse, 6 in Constellation compass in pilothouse, microwave oven, 16000 BTU condensing unit and air handler, main engine exhaust elbow, hoses and clamps, bronze heat exchanger, smart TV/DVD in master cabin, smart TV in salon that retracts up against overhead, toilet, propane controller, vented washer/dryer, laundry center lights and storage area, generator Racor filter with fuel feed piping and valving, electric fuel pump, all hoses and fuel injection pump, new in 2021 wet exhaust for both engine and gen, new in 2021. Tides Marine dripless shaft seal with spare on shaft and seawater cooling line, two 8D, one 4D and ten T-125 six volt batteries, two new battery boxes, all hoses and clamps throughout the vessel, TV antenna, battery box blower, and engine room exhaust blower and vent, fresh interior finishes, 60# HT Danforth storm anchor with mounts and 420ft rode, four 50ft spring lines, flybridge multimeter, plumbing fixtures, smoke alarms and much more.
