Mechanical and Electrical

The main access to the engine compartment is through the salon sole. There is also a door under the forward cabin access steps. This is a nice size space with good access outboard of each main engine. The generator is aft and center with fuel tanks outboard of that. The water tanks are aft in the lazarette. Moonshadow’s engine room is clean.

• For convenience, a 3000W Victron charger/inverter with a 380Ah battery bank (installed late 2022) provides power to the 110v cabin outlets and small appliances (including the microwave and ice maker) when disconnected from shore power and not running the genset. This was about a $5000 upgrade and worth every penny when camping overnight. You can heat breakfast in the microwave and make coffee without having to run the genset!
