Entering Music II from the spacious center cockpit, the companionway leads into a bright and well-proportioned interior with approximately 6'9" of headroom and a practical cruising layout. The Catalina Morgan 41 Classic is known for maximizing interior volume, providing distinct living areas while maintaining an open and comfortable flow throughout the vessel.

Immediately to port at the base of the companionway is the dedicated navigation station, offering a functional workspace for navigation electronics, communications equipment and onboard systems.

Forward of the navigation station, the main salon provides a generous seating area with a folding central dining table, abundant storage, opening ports and overhead hatches that allow excellent natural light and ventilation.

The galley is positioned to starboard and designed for extended cruising, with generous U-shaped counter space, extensive cabinetry, refrigerated storage and convenient access to the salon and companionway.

Owner’s Comments and Boat History

The Catalina Morgan 41 Classic was designed by Charlie Morgan as a capable cruising vessel particularly well suited to the Caribbean. Unlike the earlier Out Island series, the Classic incorporates a modified keel, skeg-hung rudder and simplified sail plan for improved performance and easier handling.

This 1988 Catalina Morgan 41 Classic is offered for sale in St. Thomas, USVI. Her robust fiberglass construction, stable motion and protected center cockpit make her a comfortable and reassuring platform for extended cruising.

Powered by a Yanmar 4JHBE 44 HP diesel engine, Music II cruises at approximately 5.5 knots and reaches a maximum speed of approximately 7.8 knots. Her accommodation includes a spacious salon with excellent headroom, (2) private cabins, (2) heads, a large galley, a dedicated engine room and a walkthrough interior connecting the salon to the aft owner’s suite.

The oversized center cockpit provides a secure and comfortable space for relaxing or entertaining. With substantial freshwater capacity, extensive solar charging, a large battery bank and a portable watermaker, she has been thoughtfully upgraded for off-grid cruising and extended stays in remote anchorages.

Her current owners grew up in the Caribbean and selected Music II for her combination of stability, safety, comfort and cruising capability. They have found the center cockpit secure and comfortable, while the spacious salon, cabins and generous headroom create a practical liveaboard environment.

Her shallow draft allows access to protected anchorages, while her sturdy American construction, substantial keel and skeg-hung rudder provide stability in larger seas. The owners have also been impressed by her sailing performance, reporting average speeds of approximately 6.4 knots from Guadeloupe to Antigua with a reefed mainsail, 6.2 knots from Martinique to Dominica with a reefed mainsail and 6.2 knots from Antigua to Nevis under genoa alone.

The large freshwater tanks and Rainman portable watermaker provide extended independence, while the solar array and battery bank comfortably support the refrigerator, freezer, fans, navigation equipment, water pumps, lighting and normal onboard electrical requirements.

The last several owners have cruised Music II extensively throughout the Caribbean and carefully maintained her along the way. Well equipped for comfortable and independent cruising, she is ready to continue exploring the Caribbean, cross oceans or serve as a spacious liveaboard home.
