“Elegance, Spacious, and High Performance,” that’s how Hunter accurately described the 1984 Hunter 40 Legend also referred to as a 40-1.  It really is a well-designed fast cruiser with a very livable interior.  It features a wide open workable deck, a large cockpit, and two private staterooms with their own head.  The Hunter Design Group, led in this case by Cortland Steck, created one of the best aft stateroom berths in an aft cockpit sailboat!  Stowage is plentiful without creating claustrophobia, all while maintaining a perfect balance of beautiful wood and easily maintained finished fiberglass interior surfaces.

You’ll notice the great-looking lines as you walk up, and be surprised by how open it feels down below!  It sails very well and motors great.

The Yanmar engine runs and looks well, but has never been equipped with an hour meter.  This vessel is equipped with CNG system from the factory for the stove/oven, but the current owners have never used it.
